Hi
This is the tracking record of the mail sent to me in Bangalore India. The Royal Mail tracking notes that the packet has reached Delhi , but the the Indian Postal tracking shows the post as still on its way. Kindly help me understand.

if its like the UK its probably still going through Indian Customs, India Post won't be able to scan it, or forward it on, till its actually passed on to them.

Thank you ...that makes sense. I was informed by the Delhi Foreign Post Office customer service that the mail had not reached India and hence not reflecting on their data base. Strangely the last time I received a similar small packet via Royal Mail , it was sent directly to the Delhi Foreign PO, cleared by them and and shipped out to me( Bangalore ) the same day. Time taken from the UK to Bangalore 8 days ....signed for service.
I have another small packet coming in from the UK by Royal Mail and on checking have found it is coming via Mumbai not Delhi as has been the norm.

A note....
I received the packet today.
But again.. I could track the package to Delhi as shown above on both Royal Mail and Indian Post tracking. The above details are the last entry on both as of now. Yet I have the package in hand ! Normally from Delhi I can track my packets through customs , the Foreign Post office and on to the internal delivery system right up to my local PO in Bangalore by India Post tracking. I was very surprised when the Post Man landed up today and informed me the packet had come by 'ordinary mail'.
Anyways..not complaining only updating ....lets see how the other packet surprises me.

Received my second packet today , via Bombay...signed for.
Both packets came in within 10 days ...inclusive of a holiday in between.
Given the Christmas rush......Well done Royal Mail and Indian Post.

Tracking Royal mail parcel in India
Dear BBS,
Nice to know that both of your packages reached on time!
Recently i sent two parcels from the UK to India (by Int. Signed). When the parcel leaves HWDC, no further tracking is possible from Royal mail tracking facility.
By the way, how to track my royal mail in India from India post tracking facility, as you mentioned here.

When your parcel reaches HWDC it will reflect on both Royal Mail and IPS web trackers....

The above tracker follows it on to the metro airports ( Delhi,Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata ) ... customs clearance and exit from them..
Further tracking is picked and updated faster on the link provided by TBT. This link is better if the parcel is to smaller metros or towns. It will also be be updated on the above link.
Royal Mail tracking on both TRACKED and SIGNED FOR stop once the packet reaches one of the metros. The next update on RM is when the party receives the parcel...

When I called royalmail customer service, the service person said that I need to check with Delhi post office. But their status shows "On its way to Delhi FP India".
Today is 6th working day. When I saw the blog the status in Royal Mail should be chnaged to "Arrived at Delhi FP". Not sure in my case the status is not changed sine 16/12/2015 in both the websites.

As soon as the packet reaches Delhi it will reflect on both trackers.
RMS would reflect as.... 'arrived in Country Delhi '
IPS as.....'India Delhi AIR Receive item at office of exchange (Inb) Air Delhi FOREIGN POST OFFICE'
I am sure the update will take place very shortly.

No that's the point of entry, apparently they have a Customs office there. If customs in India are anything like the UKs it can take a while for parcels to get cleared.guruparann wrote:Hi

Thank you for the response, a relief to know this,
Apparently from the tracking I see that DELHI was the point of entry, they will have a customs department there, i am confused as to why they send it to bangalore customs.
My parcels always went to Chennai Customs after Delhi historically, reason why I am panicking.
