Its not a pay rise we need to worry about its what they want for extra pay!
If its longer deliveries or 6pm finish times they can keep their rise! for any amount!
But just by looking on here it will be the same old same old, people seeing the £ signs then complaining about how the job has gone everyday when they could have voted no like i did.
When the deal is put to us unless its a big reduction in the working week/shorter spans i will be voting no or all the complaining we do is for nothing, & i will not be listening to the bug wigs in the cwu telling me what a great deal it is as they told us this last time & people are falling apart.
im not going to listen to people telling me how good a deal will be when they will not be doing it.
Im sure the deal will guarantee full release for all branch reps then they will be telling us all how this deal will is the deal of the century & will cure all the problems in our do's!
More than ever it needs DELIVERY REPS massively involved in talks & any agreements reached. The cwu is so old fashioned in its ways & does not listen to its members, as a fellow worker said to me today, we are all in trouble as royalmail want to push us out the door by making conditions impossible to replace us with a cheaper workforce & our only chance is a union that is way too cosy with the company the further you go up it, he then went on to say our future is how long we can stick it how it is now & how it will be in the coming months/years.
Dont worry about pay, its like saying would i jump off a cliff for 100 million pounds? What good is loads of money if you are a cripple? Id rather earn less & have a manageable workload that doesnt leave me needing new knees or hips etc, i see some very sorry sights in my DO now, is it worth more money to be in pain at work? If you earn 30 grand for 5 years then your a total wreck you would have been better off earning 20 grand a year for 20 years with a smaller more humain workload.
