thank you very much :Very Happy
Well I hope you had more luck than I did with their twitter account. They did reply in English but gave me no information.
They just repeated what they told me on the phone, that my parcel has been returned to the sender (it hasn't, as confirmed by their and Royal Mail's tracking system), and offered no explanation as to why my parcel has been moving around Germany for almost two weeks for no reason.
Of course no apologies for not replying to inquiries via their contact form.

What an appalling service! Why on earth would Royal Mail use GLS Germany?!
All I can find on the web is complaints about them...

@TrueBlueTerrier - thanks for the info.
Do you happen to know of any link which lists which Royal Mail services are GLS used for?

I know that, for example, they are not used for simple (= not to be signed for etc) parcels to Germany.
I'd really like to know what European (or UK) services GLS are used for, as I wouldn't like to use their service again.

Hey great news!

My parcel is still missing - supposedly on the way back to the sender but no status change for a week.
And now GLS (from Twitter) has resorted to blatant lying ("we tried to contact you..."). Unbelievable.

International Tracked & Signed parcel stuck at gls germany

An update, for attention of anyone with the same GLS Germany problem in the future.

GLS never made any attempts to deliver my parcel, nor to redirect it, for reasons they never explained.
Don't bother with their online forms - they only reply via Twitter (and don't explain anything anyway).
They ignored my pleas to deliver or redirect it and they sent the parcel back to me.
The whole thing took about 1.5 month of frustration...

As advised by posters here, I wrote a letter to Royal Mail, explaining the situation.
(please note: you will need to get an official form from a Post Office, complete it, AND add a letter).
Royal Mail acknowledged that the situation was all wrong, they apologised, and they refunded me the postage I had paid.

Many thanks to all the posters for the kindly helpful replies on this forum!
