yes but the strike breaking strike breakers wont get a vote if the union rep kicks them out

I've been telling every one this since this started pay to me is not an issue, Yeah sure I want more money but at the moment I have 17 years left in a Job I've done for the last 20 which I actually like (yeah I know mad bugger aint I), if RM get thier way I'm not sure I'll last 17 Years. Sorry it'll be 22 if RM get thier way.

If the Deal is as bad as we Think its gonna be, the best we can hope for is that it all breaks down tommorow so we can get on with it.
RM must be cacking them selves with 8 weeks or so to Christmas.

Back in the early days of the Strike, the Pay was a minor issue. However, it did shrink into insignificance, once the dispute started to drag on. At least that was the case at my RDC.

There are obviously a small number of people who only care about the money, but they are a minority.

Although the pay is a minor issue in all this, we shouldn't forget that we are still paid pretty poorly overall. Taking into account that this supposed 6.9 really works out to far less (4.2%) over 2 years, it is,in reality, a pay cut.
They may say that there's no more money but if that's the case, why do they refuse to publish last years accounts?
I'm in a situation where any extra monies I earn is taken out of my tax credits at he end of each year anyway so it makes little odds to me other than that I have no incentive to do O/T and I have considered going P/T but then,if something happens to the shitty Tax Credit system that punishes you for working, I'd be in shtumm with my morgage.

You are right about us being poorly paid for the type of work we do, but my point is: there would be no point in Striking over Pay, as they would simply drag it on till we lost far more than we gained.

It would be nice to at least match inflation, so we don't loose out more than we have already. But there are far more serious issues to be delt with.

I wonder how much Leighton and Crozier got, when they sold their Souls to the Devil?

A pay freeze, or 2.5% increase when the the inflation rate stands above 4%, just 'aint good enough. Our hard work, and dedication to duty, deserves
nothing less than a FAIR deal.

Yup! I was not trying to detract from the other issues which are oh so important but as DH says, we've been underpaid and overworked (not the other way around!!!) for some time. For example, when was the last increase on payments for D2Ds?! 10+ years ago yet I would bet my pension (!) that RM charge customers more for the service now than they did since then, eh?
I'm just as concerned about the other strings attached to this as anyone else here but we should not sell ourselves short either.
