What is the chance my parcel will ever arrive...?

Post by xvii »

If any of the experts here could shed any light on this situation, I'd be really grateful! I sent a parcel from the US to friends in London on 25/11/15. Using the customs number, the USPS website shows it went from Texas (where I mailed it) to Chicago fairly quickly, then on 29/11 was "departed the transfer facility" in Heathrow and was "in transit".

I looked on the Parcel Force website, and that said that the status was "advised" and it was "forwarded for export" by a "delivery agent" in Chicago on 27/11. I called USPS customer service and the customer service representative said it was probably stuck in customs in the UK and they could open an enquiry form (which I did) but that it would take months to sort out.

Is there any chance that this will ever be delivered? Has it just been lost? I feel quite sad as it was a gift for some friends who just had a new baby, and was some stuff that was quite special

Yes 99% chance it will turn up.

At present there are huge delays at UK Customs, there was even before the ramp up to Christmas really kicked in. Some items are taking 3 - 4 weeks to get through and some only a few days. Its really luck of the draw what gets stopped and what doesn't. If all the paperwork is okay they should still get if before Christmas. :pray :pray

Ah, thank you so much. You are wonderful. Fingers crossed they get it before the child outgrows everything that was in the box!
