RoyalMail Stole my 2 Parcels?
This is a HELL of a confusion, on Black Friday I ordered 1 PS4 and 1 Game (they were sent seperate) by Amazon. I got both tracking numbers and since I used Amazon Prime I knew the exact day of arrival.
I was at the door waiting for the parcel from 9-11AM to notice NO RoyalMail Van passing by, when I come back home I see "Delivered-No Signature", Called Royalmail, stupid excuse of "it was delivered, check around the apartment". Even when mentioning I was outside of my apartment waiting for the parcel. They simply didn't care. "have issues? call amazon".
Called amazon they said they would investigate, fine. 1 Day later I call again, all the same crap. My second parcel also gone, no one delivered it but says Delivered- No Signature. Once again I call them to know what the hell is going on.
Same answers as before please check around. Amazon then called they would send me a replacement, what's the point though. Some one is stealing my parcels. Why can I be so sure? I have had mail arrive from RoyalMail before without problem. I confirmed my Address with both Amazon and RoyalMail and it's correct. The only option is that the person driving the VAN in Taunton at the current moment is stealing my parcels. Who would leave a 300Pounds Item OUTSIDE? Not to mention I was there waiting the whole time.
The worst thing is that no one from RoyalMail gives a crap. The RoyalMail Van just passed at my door 15 minutes ago, I called him and asked about the parcels he said he hasn't received any parcels for this road since Sunday... and yet my Parcel "arrived" at monday and tuesday.
I really want to make a complaint about this, seriously. THE WORST SERVICE I EVER HAD.
What do you guys think?

There could be a number of different reasons for this which are not a postie stealing your items, best way to figure out what has happened is to goto royalmail.com/trackdetails put in the tracking numbers on that page and post the results on here and we can see what's actually happened, that site give a lot more detail than the normal track and trace page.
As for leaving a £300 parcel outside we would only do that if the customer (the sender not you) had specifically used a tracked service which allowed that and they specifically stated on the parcel where to leave it, other than that posties should not be leaving any items 99p or £300 outside
a couple of things also noting amazon don't always use royal mail for Amazon prime, also we don't nessecarily deliver between 9 and 11 larger parcels could go by a seperate van and could arrive anytime between 7am and 7pm especially as it's starting to get busier at this time of year

You have a contract with Amazon, not Royal Mail. It is Amazon's responsibility to get the item to you, and as no signature was collected they will have to send you another. It's Amazon who are the losers here (financially speaking), you have just lost a bit of time and effort in enforcing your statutory rights.
Are you absolutely sure it was Royal Mail who are the carrier at fault? Amazon regularly use other carriers, and even if it was an RM Group company that carried it, it would probably be be Parcelforce not Royal Mail due to the size / weight / value of a console.
Here's a little newspaper story about somebody's Xbox failing to arrive in very similar circumstances (and note that Amazon did not use Royal Mail as the carrier):

Do Royal Mail only deliver in a two hour window round your way? Never heard that before.FioX wrote: I was at the door waiting for the parcel from 9-11AM to notice NO RoyalMail Van passing by,

In all my years I never knew that it was possible for RM to confirm an address on a packet that's out for delivery. I know some services are tagged to addresses, but I never knew it was possible to check the physical details on the packet.FioX wrote:. Actually, the track & trace page on Royal Mail's intranet does show the building number and postcode that the item is destined for on the very bottom line, but it doesn't show it consistently. I got the impression that this only worked when individual items were input at Post Office counters though, and not when any kind of bulk posting was happening (such as with Amazon).
The Parcelforce intranet page does show the delivery address for 95% of items.

what Tbt is that it's not possible to check the physical address that's on the packet, ie yes the address shows on some systems but that's the address that's been input to the computer system either by the post office staff or the company sending the item but that does not actually check the actual address that's on the actual packet, mistakes can be made
as for address on our systems, yes the postcode and house number can be input by post office staff apon sending, with large customers using royal mail tracked service, they provide the full name and address that should be on the packet electronically to royal mall on the pre advice (that's where term pre advice received appears on track and trace) royal mail managers and customer service can access this information with the tracking number,
it's also worth noting that this pre advice also includes the safe place instruction if any that's printed on the packet, this allows managers to check what was supposed to be printed on packet if customer denies reciept when lost from a safeplace

Re: RoyalMail Stole my 2 Parcels?
I had an Amazon packet today that had the address printed off the edge of the sticker. The left edge of the name and address, including house number, was missing. I'm sure a check of the system would show this address to be correct.

The 2D barcode on Amazon parcels contains the delivery address.
You can see the details using a 2D barcode enabled scanner app on a smartphone.

Re: RoyalMail Stole my 2 Parcels?
I accept your general point. However, the customer did not actually state that RM had confirmed the address on the packet, he / she only made the general point that somebody at RM had confirmed the address. Now, I have doubts over a lot of detail in the original post, but if you take it at face value then the customer has called RM customer services, and the only thing they could do is to confirm the destination address using track & trace.zx135 wrote:what Tbt is that it's not possible to check the physical address that's on the packet, ie yes the address shows on some systems but that's the address that's been input to the computer system either by the post office staff or the company sending the item but that does not actually check the actual address that's on the actual packet, mistakes can be made

Re: RoyalMail Stole my 2 Parcels?
It's unlikely it was stolen since the PDA information will contain the time, place and the name of the delivery officer who scanned it as delivered.
We might not be the sharpest us posties but we're not that thick.

Re: RoyalMail Stole my 2 Parcels?
Just FYI Delivered - No Signature is a new product from Amazon - not an admission that RM have delivered and didn't get a signature
It is a doorstep scan when an item is delivered that does not require a signature
it simply allows the item to be tracked that it was delivered at the intended address and allows Amazon to cut down on claims that an item has not been received
