I'm working my notice matey :nana :nana :nana

Actually I'll expand on this.

I worked in another office that had a revision and it meant I had to move as they were making 8 part timers up to full time and the last five part timers in would have to move. In that office they done everything for me and I done likewise and we had a great working relationship. In my present office I am once again bottom of the holiday rota and everyone had 3 weeks picked before I got a go, it is impossible to get a day off at short notice, you would be out past your time almost everyday, your wages are short every week when you do go over and you have to keep on top of it and clawing it back, I could go on, I may as well work 35 hours a week and get paid for it putting my feet up in an office.

So for the record I am better than management, I care about customers but no longer go to neighbours with parcels as I don't have time and if I did I would have a manager moaning that we didn't get overtime authorised before I left and refusing to pay it and in the end I'll give you this, I didn't give a sh!t about customers and at that point I knew it was time to leave :wave

That seems so familiar, why do we put up with it? I haven't been moved into this situation, it just seems to have grown up around me in recent years. As a group people in my office don't seem to care about the little things any more. Like getting paid correctly for work done, always chasing management but some don't even keep a record of their hours and are being done over every week. The CWU have to take a lead on this. It really doesn't get more basic than that. Same old problems ahead next week when this Black Friday mayhem works its way through the system.

The people that think "F*ck em" have actually been pushed that way, due to the silly duty planning. I for one would love to be able to clear up daily, for myself as well as my customers, but in order to do that, I'll be hitting 4pm most days. I'm sorry, but no. Management put us in this mess, management can sort it.

Agreed, this is the same at all levels.... postman, manager, dom and upwards, everyone is looking after themselves.

Have to agree, nobody wants less work, that would be stupid. Where the work is there, employ more people, make part timers full time. RM have made duties unachievable. I am fortunate, I do not need to work overtime, I don't want to work overtime. I will not complain about having to work every minute of the day that I am paid for. I do go over to complete, more often then not I inform the manager I am cutting off and still end up going slightly over as I didn't give away enough, that to me is being a bit flexible and not petty. Nothing to do with not giving a s***! As previous posters have pointed out, RM made this mess not us. We only have to deal with it on a daily basis.

I used to stay out and finish every day, book most days,s**t on by my so called colleagues, ignored by management when told the duty was over time, got moaned at by so called workmates whom were the managers lackeys, the runners could do the duty ie come in half hour earlier ,shortcuts and other time saving solutions , I had enough one day and basically said Bollocks to the lot of them .Do not rely on the Union Reps to sort out all the problems,I could of saved quite a bit in non payment of subs .Happiest I have been in years, not knackered every day, not falling asleep before the kids go to bed and not having a target painted on my back!!!! :Very Happy :Very Happy

So you're fine running yourself into the ground to deliver letters when the management are the ones who've messed up? The job was fine before but we're getting pushed way beyond our limits now.

Why does no one else go over their time to please customers? I just burst a tyre on my car but i'll have to wait until tomorrow because the damn garage shut at 5pm, why don't they care!!??

I'm not paid to give a s**t.RM created the mess they can fix it.In any other job I've worked, mangers were the first in the building and the last to leave. In RM it's the exact opposite.

How are they going to figure out where the picture was taken? not enough evidence available in the pic to be able to say who took it.
