OK this is maddening! I ranted on here last night and this morning my stock arrived by ParcelForce with the tracking still showing the parcel in Chicago. There's no customs clearance info and no charges. It does have a Post Office Coventry sticker on it and a ParcelForce 48 Deaside sticker, and the commercial invoice has been taken from the pouch. I just don't understand how it can have been lost for 4 weeks then suddenly turn up without explanation? Its sister parcel posted a day earlier in the US went through the system in less than 2 weeks tracked all the way and with appropriate customs charges. Oh well, I guess I'll never know what happened?

Regarding the loss of tracking, PFW usually replace foreign barcodes with a UK one (white square, "24" in the corner). They then link the two records together, but sometimes the linking fails. Is it that both barcodes work for their end of it but don't connect?

The sender may be able to claim a partial refund for postage cost, depending on the service used. If you want to give HMRC / PFW a kicking, hitting them in the wallet might work. Any timed delivery service should also include tracking all the way, they could put that in the claim too.

I have read a few posts on this thread I too am a little concerned as I have ordered from the US and from what I can so far ascertain my item has been in the shipping process from the 10th December it's almost two weeks later and the status of my delivery is in transit despite it being at Heathrow since the 13th (see LZ958191419US).

I am obviously worried as it is an important gift for a dear relative for Christmas which is a few days away I live close to Heathrow and wouldn't mind collecting the item in person if this was indeed possible which I'm certain it isn't. I'm just hoping my product hasn't disappeared in the system as this would be a real headache my tracking num is not recognised by parcel force or royal mail I feel very helpless and feel there should be more clarity in this day and age regarding the processing of peoples goods I can only assume customs are taking their time.

I have a parcel that is shown by USPS as "departed a transfer airport in Heathrow, London, UNITED KINGDOM on December 22, 2015 at 6:40 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination" so I'm guessing that it is also held up by HM Customs. I am far from happy that I haven't even been contacted.

Well thank you for advising us of your state of mind. However, we can't improve it as we are neither Royal Mail or Customs, sadly we can offer only insights not solutions. Happy New Year.

It's not Heathrow stealing your stuff. It's customs checking the declaration form on the package to ensure it doesn't contain anything that can't be accepted in this country, and also to see if you have any import charges/VAT to pay. This takes time, as it's all done by hand.

It's not possible to say if it's a fake one, a cloned one or a real one, at least on this site. You'd have to go to an official RM contact point for that.

12 days in customs is not unusual (check out the other customer threads, and this one) so there is no reason for concern yet.

However Hoverboards have been causing some problems in the mail, with some exploding, USA Banning import of them and unverified reports that Trading Standards have been seizing thousands at ports of entry because of safety concerns, including issues with “plug, cabling, charger, battery or cut-off switch.

There is also some concern over some that are Lithium Battery powered.

Beyond that, there is not much we can advise except to research the company you purchased them from to see if they are legit. Contact them direct to get their take and hopefully if you paid by credit card, and there are any problems you can initiate a chargeback with your card provider.
