Track and Trace Help Please

Post by delkav91 »

Hi,

Im new to this and looking for some help please

I ordered a laptop from England which is being shipped to Dublin with the following tracking information:

28/10/15 16:15 AT DELIVERY OFFICE NATIONAL RETURN CENTRE
23/10/15 07:48 SUSPECTED DANGEROUSGOODS NATIONAL RETURN CENTRE
20/10/15 07:13 ON ITS WAY TODO NOT FLY - NRC HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
17/10/15 04:01 ARRIVEDUNKNOWN BAG - MISSING DUN HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
16/10/15 21:24 ON ITS WAY TOHEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC PRESTON MAIL CENTRE
16/10/15 20:53 ITEM COLLECTED PRESTON MAIL CENTRE

I understand all of the track points expect "At Delivery Office" National return centre, does this mean it has been inspected and not classed as dangerous goods and will be sent onto me or will the laptop be returned to sender???

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It's probably in the area of the NRC where they inspect suspected no-fly items. Was it a new laptop? The issue is probably about how the lithium-ion battery is packed within the package

If you look at this recent thread:

http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... =6&t=71837" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You will see that another suspect package went to the NRC and got passed on after a couple of days. That "28/10/15 16:15 AT DELIVERY OFFICE NATIONAL RETURN CENTRE" message seems to be the time and date that items arrive at the NRC, which is in Belfast, and it seems to be normal for it to take a couple of days to get there.

As Spacephoenix says, it's probably an issue with how the battery was packed. If the battery was not inside the laptop, if there is a spare battery with the laptop, if the whole thing is not packaged in a box (e.g. if it's just in a jiffy bag, though that seems unlikely), or if the sender's name and address are absent from the parcel, then the item may be destroyed.
