Another parcel Stuck at Heathrow ??

My parcel arrived in Heathrow from the US and was scanned as departed Hearhtow on 3rd October. but nothing more shown up. I contacted Royal Mail today and they say it's not entered their system.

I have the same problem. my priority paid envelope arrived at Heathrow 5.02pm 20 September 2015 departed for destination.

it left Los Angeles 15 September, tracked right across the States by USPS, reaches Heathrow and disappears into the hole. I live 120 miles from Heathrow, so where the heck is it?????

I contacted Royal Mail, got a generic reply telling me it is on not the system, apologising for any inconvenience and iif they can assist in other way please contact them.

I want my pattern book...

Still no sign of it in Royal mail's system it seems to have just dissapeared. Anyone help ???

Just to clarify, I do not work for RM, I'm just another disgruntled customer, albeit with copious experience of the system!

Joff81:It looks like your parcel is still at Customs; that line about leaving a Transfer Airport at Heathrow is what I get on items sent via USPS.I don't know what it's supposed to mean, but what it actuallymeans is, "Your parcel is at Customs, get ready to be shafted!". You can get detailed tracking from 17track.net and/or royalmail.com/track-details.

Catwoman: Your items is a book? That's a 0% tax rated item and, provided your seller correctly filled out the Customs Form, it should have sailed through Customs. As with Joff81 above, check the track-details site as that should give you a detailed account of where your parcel is.

I'm not bothered about how much customs charge me.
I'm just bothered about will it ever get delivered ??
I just tracked it on 17track and it says the same and Royal Mail don't even have it in their system. Do you have any idea how long it will take ??

Couldn't tell you mate. Could be a few days, could be a few weeks, it's really just that random!

A thought occurs: try tacking it on Parcel Force's website; if it's a large parcel it'll go via them, not the regular Royal Mail.

Thanks for replying it's appreciated.

I've just tried tracking on parcel force and it says the tracking number must be wrong. still no sign with Royal Mail but as it's the weekend I'm not holding my breath.
I've had quite a few parcels from abroad and the longest they have been held is 2-3 days, this one is now at a week and still no sign of it moving.

I'll just have to keep an eye on it and see if it ever moves.

The tracking saying that the item has left Heathrow is probably both literally true and not helpful. Customs are at Langley, a little outside the airport. But what you all really want to know is when it will be handed over to the delivery company, and we have no way of knowing that. I think it's pretty clear that there has been some major backlog at Langley for a month or so but that's all we know.

Hi I have the same problem of you. I ordered an item on July and I have tracked the parcel: it was arrived to Heathrow Worldwide Dc on 7th of september. I tried to phone them and they said to me that the parcel was not in their system so maybe it was missing, but nobody knew anything about that. I tracked again the parcel on the website where I ordered it and the result was that it should be in Heathrow. I tracked as well on the site of the delivery company and they said to me that the parcel is in Heathrow. I tried on Parcel Force's website as well but for them the reference number is wrong. So please, if someone knows, can you suggest to me what I have to do to have my item back? Thanks

Hi guys
I just thought I'd let you all know that my parcel arrived safe and sound today. It had not been opened and there was no white card to say I had to pay any customs charges so all is good.
Just to give you guys the time frame the parcel was stuck at Langly (HWDC) for 10 days total and was released at 2:03am this morning. Arrived at my local delivery depot at 7:54am and was delivered at 8:48am

As you can see from other threads on this site, there is some kind of backlog at the customs facility at Heathrow and there has been since August. Delays of a month are common. Unfortunately we are a Royal Mail / Post Office website and have no real insight into what's going wrong at customs.

hi guys, I have the same exact problem and it has been at Heathrow since 8th February. I have spent a hefty £80 on this parcel and I do not want to lose this or at least get a refund. Any help? I have already checked on parcel force, Royal Mail (and phoned them), DHL and FedEx

unfortunately delays at Heathrow are not unusual, delays around 4 weeks are common at the moment, also if your package is worth around £80 depending on where it has come from you are likely to get a customs charge so look out for a grey surcharge card
