Don't know what's going on here:
Reference number: RR383590915JP
Date Time Status Track point
30/09/15 02:08 ON ITS WAY TOSLEAFORD PDO NOTTINGHAM MAIL CENTRE
30/09/15 01:45 ITEM COLLECTED NOTTINGHAM MAIL CENTRE
29/09/15 14:33 ON ITS WAY TONOTTINGHAM MAIL CENTRE HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
26/09/15 12:53 ARRIVED IN THE UK HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
This has never happened before, anyone care to hazard a guess?
I've had no contact from Sleaford PDO and there's no phone number so I can't call and ask if it's with them, just a generic number I tried to call before but gives me the run-a-round. For all I know it's still at Nottingham anyway.
Does anyone know who I can can contact to get my parcel? I'll be livid if it's been lost/stolen as it contains a rare item I'm unlikely to find again!
Cheers!

Re: Another problem with incoming International package
Calling delivery offices has always been a bit of a nightmare. Even if you can get a number they often don't answer. When I worked for the Post Office, sometimes Royal Mail would call us hoping we had another number for the Royal Mail delivery office because they they couldn't get through to their own facility. I would advise going there in person (and yes I realise that you may live rather a long way from the DO in that part of the world).

Thanks for your reply Snaggletooth (I so want to write "Exit stage left/right". Oops, just did it! ;) )
Crikey! If it's that bad internally customers don't stand a chance!
Actually, it's not that far away, but I have several health issues and I can't always just pop out, sometimes it takes planning even for a short trip! Bit of a faff I'd rather avoid tbh. But since I've no hope of phoning, and I'm not 100% convinced the e-mail I sent earlier will bear any fruit, I may have to bite the proverbial bullet and "pop" down to town!
Cheers!

could it be possible there is tax to pay on it, though to be honest its gone through the system to quick for that. If so you should get a grey card soon.

Re: Another problem with incoming International package
I don't know, but if you read my other thread you'll see that I've been getting Customs charges when the parcel has seemingly not had time to go to Customs for charging, so I wouldn't be surprised!
What's bothering me is that, even with a Customs charge, it usually goes from Nottingham to Sleaford overnight and I'll invariably get the Grey Card of Doom that morning. i.e if a parcel is on it's way to Sleaford right now (2.30am), I'll be expecting a card in a few hours. This one's been over a week now and that's never happened in my 5+ years of importing from Japan and the USA. Which is why I'm getting worried about it being lost.
Still to hear from RM customer services. If I can get into town in the next couple of days I will see what's going on.

Re: Another problem with incoming International package
Well, got the [non]response I expected from RM CS:
And people wonder why it's often referred to as "Royal Fail.
Is it really that hard for one of them to pick up the bloody telephone, call Notting and/or Sleaford and ask, "Where's this customer's parcel, reference #..."? It's somewhere between those two places! But nooooo, I have to faff about getting someone almost the other side of the world to find a parcel that's somewhere between 5 and 40 miles away from me?! I'd say "unbelievable!" but, frankly, it's really not.
Sorry, I know this is a website where RM staff hang-out and I'm really not trying to tar you all with the same brush, but this kind of nonsense is really unacceptable in this day and age. The worst part is that the rare item has just popped up on another website (at twice the cost!) and I don't know if I should grab it now in case my original is actually lost, or chance loosing it (again!) on the off chance my parcel arrives. All because someone can't pick up a sodding phone!
So, they want me to contact the person in Japan to get the Japanese Postal Service to find out where my parcel is when it's in the UK.Dear [Customer]
Thank you for your recent email about an item of mail you are expecting from overseas. I am sorry to hear that your item has not yet arrived and hope you will accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
In order to investigate this matter, we recommend you contact the senders and ask them to provide their own postal administration with the posting details. We have a Universal Postal Agreement with all our international partners, which means all enquiries and claims relating to international mail must be initiated by the senders in the country of origin. Please see the Universal Postal Union's website at http://www.upu.int" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for further details regarding this.
Where applicable, the postal administration in the item's country of origin will liaise with Royal Mail to investigate the loss. They will then respond to the senders directly, just as soon as their enquiries are complete.
I hope you have found this information useful and that this explanation resolves your enquiry. Please accept my apologies, once again, for any inconvenience caused and if there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know.
Regards
CS Person

Re: Another problem with incoming International package
hi Exin feris
Did your parcel ever arrive or just show up ?
i have an identical situation to you and think its ludacrist that a parcel has quite clearly been lost in the UK but you still have to go a million miles away for them to trace it ????
I would be interested to know where you are with this missing parcel
Thanks
