RM 48hr tracked

Post by ian.mark.2012 »

I sent a parcel within the UK using 48hr track and trace on 9.10.15. I used my local post office. The parcel is to be delivered within the UK. The last status is that it is on its way. Why is this process taking so long. Is there any way of checking that the parcel has been delivered. How do i complain or make a claim.

if it was tracked it should be scanned at every point in its journey through the system. Can you visit this site http://www3.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and post the results here.

(Oh and moving to customers area)

That's strange - that status usually appears only when a bulk sender has advised RM that a certain tracking number is going to be used.

Also you say you sent it 48 hr track and trace, this is normally a service only available to businesses not the public. :hmmmm

I wonder if what's happened is that the Ebayer told you to send it back in the same packaging and you did this. If so the problem is that once its opened you can't send an item back without someone paying for the postage again.

So its possible that RM have raised a charge against the original sender but they haven't responded to the grey "surcharge" card. Thats the only thing I can think of. It might be worth checking with the ebayer to see if they have had a card, and with RM customer services as they may be able to get more information than this informal site can.

Did you print anything off which you stuck to the outside of the parcel?

I did the return through ebay.
They gave me a returns label to print off. I did so, placed it on a bubble envelope, added a returns label inside then handed it to the post office. They scanned the barcode and took it away. I was informed by ebay that i was not responsible for return postage and that the seller had accepted my request to send the item back. Dont even know how to contact ebay on this issue. All the correspondance i have does not have a reply option.

If I have understood correctly, this is a 'catalogue return' rather than RM or PFW tracked service. So it's basically second class plus the ability to check it in and check it out of the mail system. It has neither full tracking nor a guaranteed delivery time.

If the above is correct, then the proof of sending should be all you need to get the refund from eBay, regardless of whether it has arrived or not.

Ebay have a contract with RM for RMT48 (Royal Mail Tracked) it is the same RMT48 that business users can be contracted to. But it does take longer for the second scan to update (perhaps because it is 'posted' at a post office). The next scan usually updates when it gets to the Mail Centre.

Ebay have the contract, for their Managed Returns. They have a contract with RM for RMT48 and another contract with Collectplus. Sellers on ebay are a variety of things and yes, quite rightly, they might also have contracts. Don't get confused.

eBay do not use royal mail tracked 48, royal mail tracked 48 is a service used for posting goods out, they do offer a tracked return service but it is not royal mail tracked 48 as again that's a delivery service not a returns service

if you still think it's royal mail tracked 48 they are offering for returns then please post a link to show it
