Royal Mail Special Delivery International

Post by wertk1 »

Hi there,

Does ROYAL MAIL SPECIAL DELIVERY is used for shipping abroad too ?

I'm a buyer from ebay. I bought a phone and asked seller to ship it with Royal MAIL International Signed For. After 3 days i finnaly got a tracking number from him but i saw from start that service is not INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR.

Tracking number is : ZJ719375***GB
The actual status of parcel is : ON ITS WAY TOUK SD - NRC - HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC

What this means ? Parcel is returning to him right ? NRC stands for - NATIONAL RETURN CENTRE.

Please someone explain if i have any chanches to get my item, i'm in Moldova.

It's not my first time when i get parcel from UK. I always used ROYAL MAIL INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR and everything was cool.

The sender should have used Airsure or International tracked (signed for).

The reason its being sent to NRC is so that they can return it to the sender, or if its illegal/dangerous investigated.

Unless the sender can send you another item, or its returned to them quickly and they send it by the correct method, the chances of getting it on this attempt are ZERO.

It depends how long it takes to identify them. Could be in a few days if all details are correct, or weeks if not.

Airsure doesn't exist anymore, it's what International Tracked And Signed For replaced.

It's probably been refused by the CAA, most likely they weren't happy about however the battery was placed within the parcel containing the phone

I got a phone last week and there wasn't any problem with battery or something else. I knew about this rule in USA not in UK.

Really don't know how to resolve the problem...seller don't communicate with me, he is telling me that i'm rude because i asked him to do something..call his postal office because it's clear that i won't see my item.
He has a 100% feedback, about 420, can't understand why he do this to me...

I paid him within seconds...damn. Hope ebay will rescue me.

Not sure why they think you are rude. They made the error by sending it Special Delivery when that is only for UK destinations.

The item is being returned to the sender, not going to you. You need to complain to eBay, I would include copies of the emails if he has accused you of being rude.

The laws on sending lithium ion batteries in the mail apply to every country in the world (with some slight local variations, probably).

Well..i spammed him from the first minute when i saw that tracking number is not like others.
He got nervous that because i think he is stupid...and he is but i didn't say that to him.

I just said to him that i'm very mad on him because he didn't listen to me, i told him clear "i offer you xxx pounds including shipping with ROYAL MAIL INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR ".

Anyways..i told him to call to postal office today, now i got a reply that royalmail said that they will be back in 48 hours to him ....pretty weird huh ?
I think he just wasting my time.

Sometimes the CAA will destroy an offending item, Royal Mail doesn't have any control over whether the CAA destroy no-fly items that have fallen foul of the regs
