I bought some clothes off of ebay and paid for International Tracked and Signed service. The seller sent out my parcel on 27 July. Since then i have been tracking my item on the RM website.
On 28 July it said :
Status: It's on its way
Your item, posted on 27/07/15 with reference RXXXXXGB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in SINGAPORE.
Till today 6 August, there have been no updates in tracking. I thought they were supposed to deliver international within 3-5 days? Its been 9 working days and no updates in tracking, no nothing. I would like to know why its taking ages.
The detailed tracking info says this:
28/07/15 AM ON ITS WAY TOSINGAPORE SINGAPORE
28/07/15 04:36 ARRIVEDUNKNOWN BAG - MISSING DUN HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
27/07/15 17:52 ON ITS WAY TOHEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC TYNESIDE MAIL CENTRE
27/07/15 15:07 ITEM COLLECTED TYNESIDE MAIL CENTRE
27/07/15 14:08 SENT AT POST OFFICE 66 Saltwell Road NE8 4XE
I contacted the seller who gave me some rubbish excuse about parcels taking 28 days and customs. How can it be in customs when it apparently has not even reached Singapore? I emailed her again demanding that she contact RM and ask wth is going on because i'm in Singapore so how am i supposed to call? I will file a dispute if this goes on and she does not respond.
Please help,.Why is it so slow?

From the Royal Mail tracking it's made it to Singapore. If it's currently with Singapore customs then there will be nothing that singpost will be able to do until the item is released to them

I'm afraid that neither you nor we know that because...Chocololitina wrote:Nope it has not reached Singapore
… is correct. There is subtle but important difference between arrived in Singapore and arrived with Singpost. International Signed for has a delivery aim of 3-5 days but this is not guaranteed and there is no maximum. There are many reasons for this, one being that neither postal service has any control over the national customs services. If I understand it correctly, Royal Mail put it on the plane to Singapore, and at this point their tracking service ends. At Singapore it is wheeled off the plane and into customs. Once customs release it then Singpost can track it through their system. If an item has passed through one mail service and not entered the other then 99.9% of the time it is in the receiving country but held up in customs.Chocololitina wrote:I tweeted RoyalMail and they told me they have no way to track it?
Just to check, did the clothes you bought have any parts made of leather, snakeskin, feathers etc? Or did they have any interesting slogans printed on them? Either of these could have fallen foul of Singaporean customs rules.
