Curiousity overloaded :confus : "ON ITS WAY TOHWDC AIRSURE"

Post by Stargirlinsapporo »

Hi there! :)
I am confused

Tracking says:
15/07/15 20:54 ON ITS WAY TOHWDC AIRSURE MEDWAY MAIL CENTRE
15/07/15 19:40 ITEM COLLECTED MEDWAY MAIL CENTRE

And no update since then
Should I cry over poor item lost somewhere on the way? :cry

Or should I blame brave UK postmen that joined sanctions and blocked car spare parts to import to Russia thus hoping to ruin industry

Are you saying that you sent spare parts for cars in the mail? Many types of these contravene the Dangerous Goods act, so are not allowed in the mail under any circumstances, no matter where they are going. Could you tell us specifically (but in laymen's terms) what it was you were sending please? For some things it will be important to know if they are new or used.

Also, and this is beyond my area of expertise, but if car parts are covered by sanctions against Russia then this will cause a problem too.

Just to clarify my last post: car parts are not specifically recorded as dangerous goods in the official list. However, the training given to Post Offices staff when the rules came in states that most used engine parts (and possibly some new ones) will have sufficient lubricating oil or old fuel on them to fall foul of the flammable substances rules, so are effectively banned. I think the example given was that a used petrol powered chain saw would be banned from the mail even if the fuel tank was completely emptied.

Even if the car parts do not come under the above category, they may contain batteries and therefore foul that part of the dangerous goods rules, likewise compressed gas, or they might be made of glass and contravene Russia's rules on that.

Good day!

Oh, glad to hear from you! :)

The story is that I bought a new spare brake pressure valve at online store in Kent for an old Land Rover located in Siberia. It is generally piece of metal, although very well shaped, and doesn't contain burnable parts.
It is a first time for me to wait for a parcel from UK. Usually I would mail anything from asian countries, like Japan, South Korea. Senders, also usually, would complain that postal services in Russia are so non-reliable and difficult to trace. Having lived in Japan and using post on daily basis I agree that Japan post is way more safe and punctual compared to Russian. So far for years, there was no lost parcel at any side. If there were troubles at customs, it was clear they were at customs for one or another understandable reason.

In this case, I am confused, because tracking says nothing except parcel was received at UK local mailing center and sent to main country hub. As far as I understand under normal circumstances it would pass there within one or two days. But ten days passed and no update at online tracking list. What should I do?...
Contacting sender is not an option because I tried and
he was kind of rude. It feels like troubles occure to them so often that nobody really wants to deal with them :(

Is this a valve used to control the pressure in the brake fluid? If so, a used valve would effectively be banned from the mail due to the presence of old brake fluid (which is flammable), but a brand new one would probably be fine.

There was no track, just straight to import customs and delivery!
Praying on local post to pass faster.
Well, progress and automatic handle of mail compared to our ancestors way of living brings both joys and worries.

Thank you for your efforts to possible resolve!
