Item stuck at GBLALA

Post by brigeatenex »

Hello,
I've ordered an item on Ebay from Korea (it was a beanie). I ordered it on November 22nd and the korean track&trace site shows my item "Arrived at inward office of exchange" on December 16th.
Here's what the site shows me:

The thing is, I am from Lithuania. What is GBLALA (I assume it's in UK) and how long do I have to wait for it to get to my country? Usually packages from UK to Lithuania arrive after two weeks so why the delay?

It would be HIGHLY UNLIKELY that a genuine item destined for Lithuania would come through the UK. If it was it would be forwarded on fairly quickly.

One possibility is that they have used a cloned tracking code.

You could try the number on Royal Mails site http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, but I think you are best raising a claim against the eBayer

GBLALA is the International Mail Processing Centre code for Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre.
It may have passed through there on route to Lithuania.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

The seller didn't respond, I don't know what I should do. Should I escalate this to the ebay customer support? I just want to know whether I'll get my item and when I will get it. This was supposed to be a christmas present :((

I know it's kind of a silly question, but if I get my money back through customer support is there still a chance that I get my package? I mean if it's really stuck at customs and it will eventually be sent to me. Because I've read online that some people who ordered from Korea had to wait one month for customs to process it. :/

you have been given a tracking code for an item thats been sent to the UK, i doubt this is even your item to be honest, if you claim your money back it wont affect the delivery of this item stuck at heathrow, regardless of whether its yours or not

The aftermath:
So I'm raging. The seller didn't respond so Ebay decided to not give me back the money "since it is not eligible for money back guarantee". The thing is, the item IS eligible and the worst part about it is that for some reason the seller does not ship to Lithuania anymore? This is driving me insane, I just payed my money for nothing.

Packets from Thailand are not tracked within the UK so it won't show any movement on the tracking systems. Also Thailand is known as a hotspot for counterfeit goods so sometimes it takes a long time to get through customs.

I'm not saying that this is dodgy, but in general I would be wary of paying for goods purchased online via cash-to-cash transfer products such as Western Union or Moneygram. There is no comeback if things go wrong or if the seller disappears with your money.
