HWDC?? Why wont my item be found

Post by sendityourself »

Hi Everyone,
yes, this is my first post on here but I come to this forum for help and hopefully to get some answers.

As it seems is a common issue (wish I had known before) I sent a 10kg box through Special Delivery Guaranteed b4 1pm next day, on 30th June. Well suprise suprise it did not arrive. Now on the tracking it has come up with RECEIVEDUNKNOWN BAG - MISSING DUN, this was at 10.54pm on 30th June, same day!

Now, I know what this means, the bag, box crate whatever, carrying my item has a missing label, therefore my item is safely contained within and will eventually make its way back into the system.

Customer services have been moderately helpful at best (depends who I get through to) and are saying it SHOULD end up back in the system.....
what I have not explained is that my item was sent from Aldershot, to go to a company in Northampton (uk mainland) not to go internationally..... so why has this ended up at Heathrow.

What I need to know from all of you lovely people is this.

1. Now that my item is apparently stuck at Heathrow with no sign of ever moving, how long should it take to get back on track and reach its destination. Someone scanned it to know its there, so why did it simply not just go back onto a truck and redirected to the correct sorting office???

2. If I never see this item again, where the frickin heck do all these items go??? It has a main label, it has a return address, will I ever see it again or is it just destined for the Royal Mail Christmas party to be handed out during pass the parcel along with all the other missing items that noone ever see's again!!!??!!!???

Further insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have contacted customer services again this morning and will do regularly, plus I have also sent a letter to Moya Greene (CEO) in the hope she can shed some light onto why when all mail and parcel mistakenly end up at HWDC they just disappear, doesn't sound like state of the art mail sorting and tracking to me????

Best Regards

Human error has crep into your item, and as RM cocked up you should be able to claim the cost of postage back as it did not meet the profduct specs.

If you have the tracking number you can post the outcome from Track and trace page http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and we may be able to offer insight.

With both the original address and return address it should be passed to one of them in the next day or so, and tracking should be updated. If these have for some reason become unreadable then it will be forwarded to the return letters branch who will invesigate it. They have access to Customer Services database so hopefully in this, the worst case, they should still be able to return it to you.
