The question is, is £61 a fair bonus or have we been shafted? Should we have got more?

It's actually quite worrying the amount of people just happily taking the £61 without even questioning it.

While we get £61 and feel ripped off again, Richard Branson is busy giving his staff a full years paid paternity leave, both male and female. He says 'look after your staff and they'll look after your business' - RM don't seem to realise how disillusioned people are with these schemes that let us down every single time.

the old colleague shares were always a non runner unless you left the company at the right time and got paid them, i always knew they were worth nothing, the only time i've ever agreed with our onion rep!
as for this bonus, other departments of RM get a lot more,
3 hot days toiling in the heat and my £40 odd as already gone on cider/takeaways because i'm too knackered to do anything when i get home

I was referring to the business model! John Lewis is a trust owned by its employees. RM isn’t, never has been and probably never will be. So don’t you think we should concentrate on fact and not ideology?

I agree the £61 isn’t very much, but they didn’t have to give us anything at all – FACT!

Buying shares in any company is an investment in the hope of sharing the success of that business, and lots of people do it! If you have a personal pension tucked away from a previous job perhaps, that will be invested in equities and you will be benefitting from the success of the businesses that it’s invested in. Regardless of the sums of money involved, why would anybody invest in a business and then want that business to fail?

I assume you will be hanging onto your free RM shares rather than cashing them in when the time comes, you wouldn’t want to sell them to some capitalist dickhead in the City of London now would you? Employee ownership is good right?

Or maybe not……

I have no issues at all. But im not one for being abused and exploited now by the business, more work.. yes you can do it.. not being paid your overtime even when its been promised you.... year on year increased work loads... perhaps you like to try a 5 hour delivery every week 4 lots of door to door.. go home exhaused every day.......
