I've also read they some times take over 72 hours to actually start the tracking process?

When was it flagged as dispatched on whatever selling site? If it was dispatched yesterday, there is always the possibility that the seller missed the final collection at their local PO branch though I'd have expected to have still seen a tracking entry

That shouldn't affect it unless for some reason the sending address, the receiving address or the items contained in the package are of interest to their Border or Homeland Security.
