Would this Italian postage cause trouble?

Post by PostPLan »

To cut a long story short I need to return a large package(TV) to Amazon Italy. Amazon have given me a prepaid label that looks like the image below(have removed the Amazon return barcode from the bottom for privacy reasons) -

So basically I'm wondering what would happen if I turned up at a post office with a TV sized parcel with the Amazon Italy label on the front? Would it be accepted or rejected? Thanks in advance.

I don't think that the pre-paid postage on that label would be accepted by ParcelForce. The item will likely be too big to go by Royal Mail

Looks like I'll probably have to spend £20 to send the package, by courier, back to Amazon Italy then. Oh, well.

IIRC, the only pre-paid labels that a Post Office can accept for items going abroad are the International Returns service (Royal Mail) and the Euro Returns service (PFW) and that label doesn't look like either. I could be wrong about, but I'm fairly sure. The former service has a weight limit of 2Kg and maximum length of 60cm, the other one will take a higher weight but will be limited to 150cm.

Did you buy it off the Italian arm of Amazon? If not, you might want to have a word with their customer services.

Yes, bought item from Amazon Italy because it was a good deal. I've been told Amazon Italy will respond to e-mails in English so perhaps I'll contact them.

If you use Google Chrome it will translate emails for you but i believe that you will still have to pay to return the item, the downside of buying from outside Amazon UK i'm afraid.

If the item is faulty it probably has a European wide warranty which could be another option

If you need any help translating to / from Italian, I'd be happy to oblige (bilingual)
