postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person now
Well lets just say i am raging, i was sent a very important parcel that never showed up so got senderto track and its has been given to some random person,no card through my door or anything stupid post man thinks it is acceptable to do this. Items in the parcel was extreme important to me. What can i do about this if i am honest i want my post man to be punished for this he should not be giving my mail to anyone let alone not givig me a card to say so. Tbh RM have been useless they coukd not care less about the things in the parcel.

"A very important parcel" should really have been sent Special Delivery rather than Signed For but if delivery to a neighbour takes place, as it can for Signed For with Royal Mail lowering its standards to those of its competitors, then a "Something for you" card most certainly should have been left informing you what had happened.

Re: postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person
Yes it should have been sent special delivery but i unfortunately had nothing to do with sending. I dont even know who has the parcel thats the thing all i know is it shows up as delivered and has a signature i am awaitig the person who sent the parcel to send me all the information needed.but no card was posted through my door. I informed the police who are more than willing to take it as a criminal case of theft as the person obviously has no intention of handing it in. I asked all neighbours and they deny having it. Clearly someone has it. And RMs attitude is they will investigate and compensate where necessary but the parcel has things that were priceless and irreplaceable. I really angry about it. All im wantin is the details of who took it so i can question them about it. Unfortunately i cant even find out who the postman was for that day

Re: postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person
There is quite a few scenarios that could cause this that are not caused by the postie
1 the address could have been slightly incorrect ie 2 instead of 22 and it's been delivered correctly to the address that's actually on the parcel
2 eBay scammer giving out same reference number to multiple people
3 someone else at your address signed for the item
also it's the sender who needs to make a claim so you should be chasing RM you should chase them.
Also RM record the exact gps Co ordinates that the item was signed for so that will show exactly where it was delivered to.

Could simply have been written mistakenly on the parcel there is a lot of innocent reasons why it could have gone astray

When you put the tracking number into royalmail.com/trackdetails does it show your correct delivery office as where it was delivered from?

Re: postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person
Yes it shows correct delivery office, i live in a block of flats so by the looks of it someone has taken it in andnot bothered lettin me know. Its nirmally the same postman we get so will hav to speak to him, there is also not any other street nearby with similar street name. Unfortunately i havent lived here long so dont know any other ppl that live here apart from young couple that live on same floor as me. They says if i can giv them the name of the person who signed for it they will see if they know who it is. There isnt even any other places beside me that hav a similar number as me my street is quite wierdly numbered. Obviously the person who sent it is dealinwith the claims on their sidem but they are in eengland whereas im in scotland so i hav been tryin to get in touch with local delivery office to find out some info. It isnt the fact that they will compensate coz the things in parcel are priceless and irreplaceable i was needin them

Re: postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person
If a block of flats did it have the correct flat number and not just the street number. The fact that sender is in England doesn't matter. They are still the ones that should be chasing it up. You may get very little info from postie as to where it's gone that's why the sender should be chasing it up.

Re: postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person
As stated sender is chasing it up but i am also chasing it up. Yes it had correct fkat number everythin was correct on it. It is the post man who messed up in this case everythin else was fine. And as i says the onky thing RM are goin to do is compensate. As i says the items r priceless and cnt be compensated i need to find this. But its fine as police will deal with it and hopefully person will be prosecuted and i hope the post man will be dealt with properly as a lazy worker is a terrible worker. If they cnt do tye job properly they shldnt be doin it at all

Re: postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person
You don't actually know the postman has done anything wrong your just assuming they have.
For example how can you catagorically say everything was correct on the parcel unless you seen the address label. people make mistakes your relative could have put flat 2/1 instead of 1/2 etc
I am not saying it's not the postman but you can't say with certainty it is them

Re: postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person
For a start the receipt from when item was sent had my post code and number of flat on it as it always has when somethin sent recored, also i dont have numbers like that in my area mine is 60 it an easy number, there is no number 6 in the street also no other numbers it cld be mistakin for. This is how i knw that it is to do with the postie coz funnily enough it isnt rocket science. After speakin to neighbours also this isnt the first time postie has been lazy about deliveries again thats how i know.

What makes you jump to so many conclusions? Maybe they've been busy?davidwilson27487 wrote: the person obviously has no intention of handing it in.

Re: postman gave my signed for parcel to some random person
Yes i dont kniw ifnit was the same postie we always get the same one but he as i havent spoken to him yet i dnt knw if he was maybe off that day. Also the name is states on the signature isnt my name and asi dnt knw who it is then to me it is a random person, also since it was delivered over a week ago thhats how i knw they havent been that busy where i live on the bottom floor and to leave the block u hav to go past mine so they cld easiky chap my door. These arent assumptions. Also the fact i asked all neighbours in block and they say they dnt hav it means either they r lyin about havin it or postie gave to just someone in block without doubke ccheckin they live here, also that no card was posted through my door then that means postie never done that, and it certainly isnt the 1st time round my town posties have been known to lie and steal around here.
