Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
I also have a package stuck sice the 20th RR582310464SE
The strange thing is that I sent 4 parcels same day and none of the other 3 got stuck.
How long should I waint untill filling a claim? The customer wainting for the parcel is not happy :(

4 days isn't that long, unfortunately. You will need to check with the Swedish postal service for their claims policy: in the UK you can claim after 5 weeks.Jegor wrote:I also have a package stuck sice the 20th RR582310464SE

Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
Is there absolutly nothing that can be done? Ive been sending parcels to the UK past 2 months, never had this problem, I just noticed that probably 4 more packages are stuck.
The problem for me is that all my sales on eBay and when a package hasent arrived within 5 days, the buyers opens a dispute and my money gets on hold, which hurts my business badly.

You are aware I hope that thousands of people, multiple government departments, at least 2 postal companies, 1 cargo carrier, mutliple airport authorities and workers all deal with multiple parcels per day heading to different countries, and arriving from them as well.
There is no strange order, its like a washing machine, you wouldn't expect your washing to come out in the same order it went in, and the world of postal processing is not only like a washing machine, they use machines that look like one:

Yes Im aware of that, and the situation is the same other countries and when sending registred parcels ive never had this problem except China. I also think its odd than I have been sending parcels to the UK past 2 months and everyone was delivered within 4 days. And suddently this week almost all of my parcels gets stuck.

Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
How long would you say is long? Now its 8 days :( The parcel contained a cellphone and I can look up the IMEI and the phone is not activated, if someone would have stolen the phone it should have been activated, so hopefully its still at Heatrow.Snaggletooth wrote:4 days isn't that long, unfortunately. Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
This is really strange, I just checked all my parcels to UK last 4 months, which is about 70.
I found another 2 parcels that still shows at Heatrow, both of them has a value of more then £500 and of them has not been updated
for 2 months. I find it really strange that the buyer has not contacted me and asked where his item is? Is there a chance that the parcels actually
are delivered, but how should I know?
I just lost £600 for a parcel, and now I´m not even sure if its lost...

Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
Chances are that with a £500+ value the buyer would have had to have paid a customs charge (something that RM has no control/say over). I don't know what happens to items where the person doesn't pay the charge. I'd assume they get returned to customsJegor wrote:This is really strange, I just checked all my parcels to UK last 4 months, which is about 70.

Do you have custom fees even when the package comes within EU?SpacePhoenix wrote:Chances are that with a £500+ value the buyer would have had to have paid a customs charge (something that RM has no control/say over). Gifts between private individuals over the value of £36 are also liable for VAT. Goods and gifts over these values may also be liable for customs duty. You no longer have to pay Customs duty for goods up to the value of £135, however you will still be required to pay import VAT and excise duty where applicable.
