contracted to give me the item too

Post by unhappywithRMpolicy »

Tracking item stated delivered by RM but haven’t received item
Contacted Sender who asks the usual – check with neighbours/sorting office etc

Contacted RM direct & operator stated that I am not contracted with RM as I am the recipient and RM is only contracted with the Sender so information cannot be given. I was then told that all I could do was contact the sender who can only make the enquiry.
Please Note:
Two parties have to join the contract. The Postal worker and the recipient. Postal worker has to hand over the item to the recipient to fulfil the contract therefore the recipient has to be part of the contract.
Also the contract with sender & RM according to the tracking has been fulfilled. RM have stated that they have delivered the item to me which is false information so this now brings me directly into any enquiry.
Also in order to be able to claim compensation AS THE SENDER, RM has to change the delivery status as undelivered, only then will compensation be valid
RM you need to change the online delivered status on any item that a recipient state they haven’t received from delivered to possibly under investigation. Leaving the status as delivered is providing false information.

I have a point.
P.s where my item

should I be able to ask where my parcel is?

If an item is tracked RM should be able to know where it went and make the steps to rectify mistakes and compensate recipient for delay without question. Also without the need to involve the sender.

The feeling that I have from my experience with RM is .. we dont need to help you

There is nothing we can help with. You're are asking about a policy, we either agree with it or not, neither aspect will help you. :hmmmm

You can, but we can't answer with any authority. Even if you gave us the tracking number it would tell us exactly the same as it told you. I am 100% certain that 100% of members are on Home computers so they don't have any access greater than yours.

I agree, except for the "Without question" section, and as long as they comply with the Law of the land. Also, they have to involve the sender, even if they do help you, because of those laws. Distance selling regulations, Data Protection Act, Contractural Law, Postal Services Act to name just 4.

On some occasions RM has it hands tied, your contract is with the sender, they have sub-contracted the delivery of the item to RM. RM have no contract with you so it has to be careful, if you want that changed then you will need to join or start a campaign to change the relevant laws.

A lot of people will agree with that sentiment from an employment angle. Tis the nature of the beast as they say.

The sender paid to send the item, so they entered into a contract, not you. The sender should be contacting Royal Mail, not you.

If it is something you have bought, then you need to claim your money back from the seller. It's up to them if they make a claim with Royal Mail.
