1 day we were told - all went today.chrisj wrote:So for those that think this is almost a separate job from our normal delivery...
How exactly do you deal with the P&L scenario and the counting of election materials for payments?
For example, 2 paired walks: one has 650 delivery points and the other has 400 delivery points; for argument sake, they will take the same amount of time to deliver because one has a few high rise buildings and the other has more properties with distances apart and dodgy terrain etc.
So how do you sort out the payment?
* You should not need OT to deliver polling cards because yo are allowed 3 days to deliver them. And we have 7 days for other election materials; they can be easily treated like d2ds, IMO.
3.3p per prep and each 3.3p per delivery?chrisj wrote:So for those that think this is almost a separate job from our normal delivery...

The reason not to do it is because prepping them is half of what you're paid for, I did about 1000 today and was 1hr over, and spent about 1hr sorting counting and prepping them on Saturday. This was specifically with Poll cards, some of the other materials are counted and sequenced and I wouldn't have grumbled about doing them.Postie45 wrote:if you want to hold strictly to your hours paid, and cut off then i think its fair that you dont claim the extra money for delivering the material. Its extra workload after all and you shoudnt be expected to go over your time but at the same time you havent worked extra than your contracted hours so you shouldnt necessarily expect more money.
Regarding the OP, if you are already going to go over on your own duty then it doesnt make sense to be prepping in items for another duty, however if you have time then why shouldnt you do it ? I really dont understand why you shouldnt, its a reasonable request in your paid hours.
Ok so if me and you both worked in the same office and I came to you tomorrow and said "I have agreed to do overtime but you are going to finish an hour early. So can you go and do my overtime for me and I book the hours?" You would think this was reasonable?Postie45 wrote:if you want to hold strictly to your hours paid, and cut off then i think its fair that you dont claim the extra money for delivering the material. Job and finish went years ago (Pay & Mod agreement if I remember correctly)motherhubbard wrote:You have to be a manager to think you have to work you contracted hours or help a colleague?Judgee wrote: and anyone who suggests otherwise is either a manager

You inform lino you think you will go over but you will complete for standard o/t rates in additions to election material pay, then count the cards you personally deliver (keep bit of paper on you to count using the "gate" system).19times wrote:Come on then who can answer my question from earlier? Lino prepped mine and I prepped the other walk that it's paired with, delivered them all with my p+l partner.
We had 1000+do me and the lino split it 50/50? he never counted them or filled the sheet in - I did.
Where does it say that?islipaway wrote:
