trying to register on Royal Mail site - redirect loop

Post by dwsolo »

Hi
I have sent feedback to Royal Mail itself on the problem but I still await a reply. It's getting quite urgent. I need to register so that I can set up a redirection request with RM but their site keeps sending me to unavailable pages citing "redirect loops" when I try to register (ie set up an account).
I understand this happens quite often with their site and I have already tried the solutions proposed on various forums (using CCleaner, clearing Chrome cache, trying a different browser). Since those solutions don't work, I can only assume that the problem lies at their end.
Has anyone here found a solution to this problem other than the ones listed above?
Thanks for any advice
Kind regards
David

If their website has crashed, you can do it in person at the Post Office. If it's personal (not business mail) then you will need every adult who is moving to sign the form plus you will need proof of ID and proof of address for each surname for which you are redirecting mail. For instance, you could take a passport and a bank statement from the last 3 months. The two pieces of ID must be for the same person and the address you need to prove is the one you are moving from. ID requirements are very strict for legal reasons and there is no leeway given for slight variations from the rules.

Business redirection is similar but more complicated.

Thanks for the info.
I'll do that for now, but registering on their site would seem to be important for later. Does anyone know what is wrong with their site and whether they are planning to fix it?
