What a silly response. They don't work for RM so the same standards don't apply.
It would be like asking if Mr Ward triggered a stage 1 review for his absence.

The point was/is: Do Mr Ward's personal circumstances make him a suitable candidate for the position.

I think it is quite funny that a forum that was so anti BT2010/AFG is now so pro the architect of those agreements.

Motherhubbard your misinformed when Dave's wife had cancer Ray Ellis covered Dave ! Billy Hayes outstanding leave had nothing to do with this at all and it wrong to say it has !

Regardless of health issues and enforced compassionate leave, I believe the time scale for Billy's claim was for 9 years and was a bloody disgrace to take almost £30,000 from the members and should never have been allowed. No doubt as with all iffy dealings there will be an excuse to justify it BUT that does NOT make it right. Personally purely on that issue I would not vote for Billy Hayes. Whoever stood in for Dave Ward over his wife's illness should have done it willingly without reward.

The real blame lies with the union in allowing officials the opportunity to build up unused leave and having a system that allows it to be "sold" for cash.
Billy was not the only one to benefit from this, only the most high profile, as far as I know there was a bit of a stampede at the time. It would be nice if all of those involved fronted up, not just Billy.

Well, although I doubt it'll happen, the practice of selling leave should be stopped immediately for CWU officials. It is so open to abuse and I don't for one minute doubt that it was and is abused.
