To be honest I now consider myself better educated.

Most of the stuff in the media is BS.

essentially I consider that most guys that work for the RM do a good job and that your managers are overpaid idiots.

Your strike is causing me business issues.

I hope it can be resolved soon.

Posties deserve a fair pay rise ( geared around RPI)

A pay rise towards arithmetic mean is unrealistic

Bonuses shouls be relative to directors and staff and based on pertformance

Some of the old ways need to go.

Some of this boards members are still in the 1970's.

This about sums up my thoughts.

RM is a great institution that should be maintained

This is where it shows itself up as the ignorant prick it is. It obviously has no idea what the term 'left-wing' means or its origins. If it did, it would know that 'left-wing' is a term which could not apply to me.

OK,

Still love the Silence of the Lambs touch however it is now getting a touch dull

You are not left wing?

The general consensus of the term and its historical use comes from France and essentially is based around the working class. Maybe this is what you are objecting to as I think you a a menber of the skiving class.

Would you prefer ultra-left wing? Vacuous wing?

Please give me your definition.

As ever you refrain from any form of constructive discussion and resort to abuse.

I agree I am ignorant if this is your definition of someone who has not read and swallowed the rantings of an obscure drugged up nobody.

In case you have ever read any classic literatute I should point out that Neverland is not real and Peter Pan is not a real person - sorry if I have shattered any illusions. I mean Barrie wrote the book and therefore one should take everything in it as gospel!

I disagree.

I was just making the point that if he takes the words of one - does he swallow the words of another.

Yes I agree it could be considered provocative but it was not in the vain of "you are just a p***k"

It hasn't got the wit to engage in real abuse Teebs. It's had a look at Google and thinks it has the origin of the term 'left-wing'. Leave it to it's 'literatute'. It's obviously a 'menber' of the thick as f**k class. Wat a waste of space it is.

As ever - unable to answer a few simple questions or answer anything in a civil manner.

Lots of BS but no substance - quite typical of the type.

"Thick as F**K Class?"

How do you come to that conclusion in your warped little mind?

You attend your workplace (I won't say work) and do nothing but complain about those that are more successful and brighter than you.
You moan about your conditions, pay etc.

You do nothing constructive and are never prepared to examine the opinion of anyone else.

Why - because you are a member of the "thick as F**K" class and can not find a better alternative.

Thick me jacked my job in twelve months ago to enable me to spend more time with my young children as I was working stupid hours.

Thick me set up a business and geared it towards having time for family and other issues.

Thick me was not happy with the funding at the school my child attends - so thick me rather than just bitching started - successfully - to raise money for the school in my spare time.

Thick me cares about public services and others.

But the key difference is that thick me does something other than whinge.

Frankly you out to be grateful for your job - You have done well with your attitude to achieve any job - let alone one that pays more than minimum wage.

Managers food and drink
You guys expect more money for doing extra work.

If the managers and non strikers are attempting to provide a service to the customer then obviously they deserve some sort of bonus.

They should get more money as well.

Will you ever learn to put together an argument.

My point is simple when you look at both sides.

You were complaining about no bonus etc

If people do more than what is normally expected then they tend to get a bonus.

You consider that the "strike breakers" were in the wrong. I do not know if they were right or wrong for disagreeing with the strike - I just think that they have the right to disagree - unlike you who value only your opinion.

From the other side if you can ever accept that there may be more than one opinion the management were treating the workers (ie those that attended work) well. They attended work under difficult circumstances and therefore received a "bonus" - and should.

You will not understand the concept of a merit based bonus until you do more than attend work just to take a sh*t

moanmoanmoan wrote:Whilst I have a great deal of sympathy for the moving goalposts on pensions for those already enrolled what is wrong with closing the scheme to further members?

Most people in the private sector have to put up with money purchase schemes so why not new members to yours?

RM is loosing money and needs to move into the 21st Century to survive -you guys need to do the same.

I understand the anger over the changes to existing pension contributers T&Cs but other than this I think you are lemmings for striking - essentially you are hammering in the nails of your coffin

At the end of the day if the new T&C's are so bad then why don't you guys go and get another job?

Simple - jobs elsewhere would be paying minimum wage without a pension at all!!!
This post just sums up all that is wrong with the media and the globalists attitude today.

He thinks that because other people put up with poor money purchase pension schemes and minimum wage jobs that we should too.

Every time a group of workers asserts itself the usual suspects come on the media and say "those dinosaurs are at it again they should move into the 21st century".

Do not fall for the globalists line as they are the same people who sold us dot.com shares telling us about the technological revolution and that it's different this time we're in the 21st century and that it's a new paradigm, only then we woke up and realised it was a lie only after they stole all our savings.

And if we believe what they say we will lose all our rights pensions and just about anything that makes a job just a bit of an improvement over slavery and then they will still not be satisfied and want more.

As another poster pointed out there is no reason why every industry cannot afford to provide a final salary pension scheme,as corporate profits are at a record and the economy can clearly support it,not that you would think that by listening to the media.

Royal mail is not losing any serious amount of money and it's share of the delivery market has increased to over 98% in the last year, yes there is NO competition and the myth that has been rammed down our throats for the last 5 years is finally being uncovered for what it is and the backlash has begun.

Why are we striking they ask?

Fortunately for us we are in a position do do it,as other industries would like to do the same but can't,but we can so we do simple.

We do not need the approval of people like moan so if you don't like it then take your business elsewhere!!!

Oh! I forgot you can't because we are the only one's who deliver so get used to it.

Well said mate! He's another 'expert' on a situation he knows nothing about. He came on here spouting the pro-bosses line, and bursts into tears when he gets found out and then tries to do a 'U' turn.
