Please note we are not Royal Mail we are an 'Independent Postal Workers Website'.
RoyalMailChat is an unofficial forum which has no official or unofficial recognition or support from Royal Mail at all.
It was set up initially as a site where posties could exchange views and offer each other support.
We then added a customer forum because of the number of posts we were getting asking for advice. We can't answer any question in an official capacity, but we can offer advice, guidance, insights and at times using our local knowledge,we hope we can help in some small way.
We understand at times that things don't go to plan, and we will do our best 'in our leisure time' to help you as best we can with any problems you may have.

Well it doesn't seem like any of us get much joy from contacting rm in their traditional channels does it?
And as for support for postal workers, that's great, and really nice for the honest people in your ranks, but there's no support for the customers or interest shown, when the workers steal or wilfully misdeliver their mail is there?

Deleted pasted FB thread for a few reasons: 1. No way we can know if permission to display names was given. 2. WHen there is a link we can visit it if required. 3. The information provided in the cut and paste wasn't really relevant to assisting the poster. 4. It took a lot of space up.angrybrixhamlass wrote:I have just seen this Facebook conversation on the spotted Brixham page, I am also missing some items, I think you should pay a bit more attention to what is happening? Admins hat off.
Sorry but as previously pointed out we are not Royal Mail, in fact Royal Mail ban this site on their work computers, Because of that we can't actually help, we can only sympathise, which we do, and be disgusted, which we are.
The real problem is that so many people handle each and every single item of mail, its just not the postman or postwoman that actually delivers it. The chain in my office to delivery is PO staff, Collection driver, landing staff, Segger, MC Collection driver, MC Segger, Sorters, Landing staff, MC Driver, MC Segger, Sorters, MC Delivery driver, Delivery Seggers, Delivery Sorters, Postie, Service Driver, Postie. THats a lot of people that have access.
For that reason RM need to get reports of every item that goes missing where possible. This will alert them if there is a pattern of only certain items going missing, or if its going missing in certain areas of the pipeline, or in specific streets or places.
So while you can relieve your frustrations on FaceBook, as Royal Mail don't have a presence on there, its not going to get anything practical done. Nor is posting on here. Post away if you want on RMC, but please remember to be respectful and recognise the fact that dishonest posties are unlikely to help on here, and that the honest ones who do also put in a full days work at the busiest time of the year. The one thing that I don't recommend is upsetting posties on here at Christmas, you are unlikely to get any help that way.
After that long post I'll break it down. In case of suspected theft, or even just non delivery - report it. RMC can't help in anyway in these case we can only other sympathy and cakes

Re: Spate of missing post in Brixham, Devon - whats going on
The thread stated a sample of different people in the area having their mail go missing, and their accounts of same. I assume that was not to Rms taste having that info go public!
As several people in the thread stated, their complaints to either the local delivery office and through RMs complaints channel have gone unanswered. Therefore, where do we all turn after that?
This, as far as we customers can see, therefore can only indicate something potentially institutional about the thefts.otherwise various individual complaints would at least be answered and acknowledged. There seems to be a pattern here. If it is not institutionally condoned, then why are RM ignoring months of ongoing issues in the area when reported?

WE ARE NOT ROYAL MAIL. I removed it for the reasons stated are you calling me a liar. It is illegal for a private internet site to publish names without permission. Why do you think you see names blurred out on other sites.angrybrixhamlass wrote:The thread stated a sample of different people in the area having their mail go missing, and their accounts of same. Your MPs or local councillors, the Police, Citizens Advice, the press and once you have exhausted RMS internal complainst procedures the Postal Review Panel http://ask.ofcom.org.uk/help/post/postcomp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;angrybrixhamlass wrote:As several people in the thread stated, their complaints to either the local delivery office and through RMs complaints channel have gone unanswered.
