Come on spill the beans, good or bad, does the dreaded gate get closed,is the knock too loud,or not loud enough?
When you're expecting a parcel/packet is it a case of checking behind your wheelie bin or plant pot regulary
What tune gets whistled down to your door? :Very Happy :whistle

Say you good bits, say your bad :d'oh! but most of all say something

he's a grossly incompetent bumbling fool with the inability to read. Or accept that envelopes marked 'DO NOT BEND' will require him to knock at the door.

I can see by your user name etc that you don't think much of the service so who do you use instead?

My postie at the moment is great, only small gripe is he comes at 7.30am on some Saturdays with SD's... and I open the door looking like a zombie :Very Happy

Local van driver is great too, actually rings the buzzer and waits for an answer.. and same with my local Parcelforce driver, very friendly. :nana

Why would my username mean that I used an alternative? Bit of a stupid post of yours me thinks.

Our posties are excellent! Think we've had about 3 in the just over 2 years we've lived here and the postie parcel van man lives 2 doors away. Only one letter has failed to reach us that I'm aware of (was returned to sender and as it was official the sender sent it to my bank and they forwarded it - arrived no problem). That was however in last year's Christmas rush when temp posties were employed and it is a bit of a rabbit warren where I live - number 79 being next door to 94 sort of thing haha!

If they have something which won't go through the letterbox and isn't to be signed for they just open the door and pop it on the floor. First time that happened I nearly had a fit thinking it was an intruder - took some getting used to but it saves them time doing the card and me from having to plod to the sorting office :Very Happy

We have at least 3 different posties, 2 of them are great and the third is a total dim witted idiot.
The 2 good ones have noticed over the years that I'm never awake when they deliver the mail (11.30am ish) as I work nights, they will leave parcels where they know I'll find them easily or, if they need signing for, will knock & wait patiently for the zombie to open the bedroom window and acknowledge them.
The other idiot just stuffs all parcels in my garden and never knocks - he used to knock then run away quick. One day he did'nt knock but put a card through my letterbox that a letter hadn't been delivered, this was just as I was passing by my front door, I had to follow him down our front path shouting at him and he blanked me completely, I then had to travel 4 miles into town to get my post, he was in the office serving until he saw me go in then he ran and hid out the back, I got his colleague to fetch him in and then told him what I thought of him which wasn't pleasant only to be told I couldn't have my letter as it wasn't available. Talk about an idiot, still luckily he doesn't come around that often, must be something I said.....

No sh!t Sherlock.

My point is why would my choice in username determine whether or not I used an altenative service? Or is that beyond your scope of intellience?

I guess it is beyond  but good to see that you love the service in your area and finding the site helpful :wave

Your username question has the answer all in one, why use a service you don't like.

Our postman is very nice despite the fact that he seems to turn up at different times each day, although I doubt any of this is his fault.

Always courteous, polite and smiles even when I look like (and often have) just rushed out of bed to sign for a recorded or special delivery item.

I don't mind signing for Recorded items because I know how easy it is for (recorded letters in particular) to just be posted through the letter box without obtaining a signature. From experience there worse areas for sending recorded letters are Bristol, Cambridge and Northampton (almost 90%) failure rate at Bristol. - The upside of this is that after I have filled in the claim form I get sent book(s) of stamps so almost never have to buy any :cool

The funny thing about the claim form is that if you fill it in online, they suggest :d'oh! that you pay to send the claim to a postal address in Portsmouth I think, but if you fill in the paper form that you can pick up at the post office, you can either hand it in direct, or send it free to customer services using the Freepost RM1 1AA postcode!

Just throwing in my 2p, but if you are treating him the way you are calling people names on here no wonder he won't knock on the door. In fact I am surprised he does not just form leave them.

I try to treat people the same way as I would want them to treat me, its all Karma. (I now wait for the inevitable name calling)
