Special delievery passport to DVLA problem

Hi all,

I have posted a passport on the 10th at 5:17pm (i remember that for a reason ill explain in a bit) to the dvla in swindon.

The woman said that the SD posts leave at 5:15 put the post man hasnt picked it up so i paid the fee and she put it into the bag.

I have the tracking code but it still says please come back later. Its been several days now and am worried its lost now.

Also got an automated email from dvla 2 days ago saying "we have not recieved the returned form etc"

Any advice or information would be helpful.

If you can copy and paste the output we may be able to decipher it.

Here is the output. Obviously I forgot to mention it came from Glagow.

It seems it was sent out for delivery on the 11th but no updates since then. And i did recieve an email from DVLA on the 16th at 11pm that they have not recieved my completed application form.

It could be possible that the DVLA messed up and are just behind on sorting the applications.

IF DVLA collect their own post, (which a lot of big receivers do) then I think they have it but have not updated their systems.

I would re-contact them and advise them of the scans above.

but the confusion is caused by the last scan at 04:41.


You may need to go back to Royal Mail Customer Service team and get clarification from them, but I am about 3/4s sure DVLA do have it, they just haven't updated their system for some reason.

Thanks very much, when i went to the Glasgow office, all the lady at the post office did was hand me a delayed form. Will contact them both to find out who has what.

Okay update!

So i rang royal mail, they said the reason why the system showed it alaways as "come back later" is because "The clerk put the stamp barcode upside down" so it didnt get registered to that system.

So I thought okay it delievered on 11th. Fine but DVLA said they didnt have it on the 15th, so I rang them. They said "Oh we have it but the agent just forgot to tell the system that you recieved it so it sent the email anyway"

So there you have it, my passport is not lost, just a lot of people not updating systems.
