A tracked/recorded parcel came for my auntie on Wednesday. A friend was at my house at that time while I was out getting drinks. My friend didn't know my auntie so when the mail man asked her to sign she said that person doesn't live here. So he left.
Now I called royal mail on Thursday and the Lady said it'll arrive today by 4pm. However I saw the mail man pass my house without delivering the item. my local delivery royal mail office closes at 1 p.m. So i believe that it won't be arriving today. I'll try to call them again. But what can I do now? Has it already been sent to the return address?

Those are 2 different services, hopefully its a tracked as they are scanned more frequently as part of the service they get than recorded are.Caseymanyo wrote:A tracked/recorded parcel came for my auntie on Wednesday.
Technically that was a "refusal" so the postie would have started the "returned to sender" process.Caseymanyo wrote:A friend was at my house at that time while I was out getting drinks. Did you call the local office or the National Helpline - if the National then its quite possible that the instruction to re-attempt delivery came after the item left the office on its way back to the sender.Caseymanyo wrote: Now I called royal mail on Thursday and the Lady said it'll arrive today by 4pm.
It'll be a long shot for it to be successful but its always worth a try. If you can you could try going to the office as soon as they open on Monday, or tomorrow if they are one of the 100 offices that started Sunday working last week.Caseymanyo wrote:However I saw the mail man pass my house without delivering the item. my local delivery royal mail office closes at 1 p.m. So i believe that it won't be arriving today. Its possible if its tracked and you have the number you can see its current status at http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Caseymanyo wrote:But what can I do now? Has it already been sent to the return address?

Re: Trouble with redelivery
I called the local royal mail and asked her. She said she made it to arrive today. I'm sure they don't deliver it back to the sender that fast. So I'm hoping I can get it. Im currently trying to get the tracking number.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Those are 2 different services, hopefully its a tracked as they are scanned more frequently as part of the service they get than recorded are.Caseymanyo wrote:A tracked/recorded parcel came for my auntie on Wednesday.

I also just read online that they take their time to send it back since they aren't getting paid to do it. Some people said it can take weeks. So thats good for me.
