So Scotland has just a quarter of the UK population density.
So Royal Mail has to deliver up to four times further in Scotland - and currently for the same 'universal' price.
So after the "yes" vote surely Royal Mail, which is based in London, will look towards ditching their Scottish operations to make their English, Welsh and Northern Irish operations more sustainable and satisfy their shareholders, only a small proportion of which reside north of the border.

Independence, devolution, devo-max, home rule are all the same thing, steps on the path to separation and once you start along that path the result is inevitable. This isn't about "nationalism" which is a word used mostly by the left outside its true definition to evoke images of Jackboots and hatred. This is about the ridiculous position of a country having its own parlaiment without the powers to represent its own people and the inevitable resolution to that situation, breaking the political and economic union we have with the rest of the UK. It may happen on the 19th or it may take longer but its a runaway train no-one can stop now.

The reality of the situation is about as far away from walrus's dystopian "nationalism" scenario as is possible. The only nationalism on show is a rather romantic shortbread tin and tartan version that we're all guilty of after a couple of drams.

11 MP's is the highest the seperatists have ever returned in a General election, just after the Oil was discovered funnily enough, so not that much of an appetite.

At the time both the SNP and the Labour Party supported devolution, It was Asquith's Liberal Party who first suggested the idea of "home rule all round" and the home rule movement was founded by the National Association for the Vindication of Scottish Rights, a body close to the Conservative Party, I think that's more or less everybody covered....everybody's a separatist apparently.
