As you are a genuine customer and not a media organisation trying to make a story, it would be interesting to here results on the timescales between posting and items being received (hopefully undamaged!) and the level of service used ie first or second class. We frequently get newspapers doing the same thing but never seem to hear from the newspapers about results that showed Royal Mail in a good light!elliot_matthew wrote:I have posted 20 experimental cards from Gloucester King Square PO and Cheltenham PO and keeping an eye on what happens to them - if any are damaged then it is not snails!

Re: Solvent? damage to Post Cards
I have posted 400 cards in the last 6 months as part of a hobby and have a before photograph taken before it is sent and as they all go to my mum (I am building a collection of postcards) I have the resultant card at my mum's place.
So far of the 396 that should have arrived, 394 have arrived within 3 working days (all sent first class - most have arrived within a day or two), 1 within 2 weeks and 1 is missing although only about 8 days out.

I should add that although they are all sent to the same address they have been posted all over the UK. The biggest groups have come from Bath and Gloucester but there have been significant postings in Scotland, Birmingham, South Wales, Northern Ireland, North and West Scotland, Manchester and London

If they're going to the same address it's not representative.elliot_matthew wrote:I should add that although they are all sent to the same address they have been posted all over the UK. It's representative of the first half, or two-thirds, of the journey.bigcol wrote:If they're going to the same address it's not representative.elliot_matthew wrote:I should add that although they are all sent to the same address they have been posted all over the UK. Or you might say that as all the addresses are hand written it's not representative.

Re: Solvent? damage to Post Cards
I do send lots of other cards around the country and abroad - Caithness / London / Bath / Birmingham / D&G / Watford and abroad but I don't have really good statistics on that other than they all seem to arrive
For example today I posted international cards for Postcrossing: 1 to Netherlands, 1 to Portugal and 1 to Russia. All but 1 of the 50 international cards I have sent have made it and to be honest I think it is more likely that Czech Post has lost it.
