It's probably stuck at customs, it's not unheard of for things to take over a month to clear customs. What country was it sent from?

Not 100% sure whether I should post this question here or start a new topic?......

Anyways,I am expecting an item from china,it reached HWDC on the 11th at 10:53.....and has gone no further.
I got in touch with RM via the website 'contact us' email form and they kind of said it would appear to be 'lost'
I find that hard to swallow that an item that is probably between 60-70cm long x 20cm D x 20cm W (possible longer,wider & deeper) can get 'lost'....a small package yes.
I get the feeling it was easier for them to say that than answer my question,going by other threads on here it seems they cannot get any more info out of HWDC than joe public.....that I do find odd.
Is there not a contact phone number for HWDC?

Is there any reason why HWDC would take so long?.......another parcel posted 2 days after mine arrived at it's destination 8 days ago :shock:

Can anyone tell me why ninety per cent of the time we post anything to the UK from Portugal it goes into the black hole called Langley HWDC and never seen again. We have lost numerous packages, had delays of approximately one month to get a simple letter to its destination if indeed it ever gets there. I am amazed as to how this place functions at all.
Why does it take 3-4 days to reach Langley from the Algarve and then once in the UK it takes a month to get on its way to its recipient in the UK? There is no reason for this, especially with letters as customs should not be involved at all. My latest is a letter to the Tax Office (another joke) I actually got a refund but the bank says it will cost me more than the cheque to encash it, so I decided to send it back to them explaining this and see if I can get it in Euros.
My husband recently sold a watch on Ebay, it was posted from here and reached Langley in record time then .... nothing. He has had to refund the cost of the watch and postage to the buyer and we are now left without a watch and out of pocket by the cost of posting it by the more expensive means "as it will get to the recipient in 4-6 days"!!! What a joke, they have had it since the end of July and still we are no wiser as to where it is. Our claim has seen nothing forthcoming either.
It is just the same when family post things to us from the UK, they send it to Germany which is as far as Portugal in the other direction before we receive it here, if indeed we do, which is not always the case.
I can remember when the Royal Mail was a service to be proud of, but nowadays it is a joke. Come on please, start doing your job right, that is what you are paid for, isn' t it?

This is an unofficial site so I ask you to treat members with respect, especially as 99.9999999999% have nothing to do with HWDC.

I would like to add that I am not criticising the present staff of the Royal Mail rather the lack of staff. There have been so many cutbacks and staff employed on short term contracts etc that they cannot cope with the influx of mail. Start employing proper full-time staff on proper staff benefits and maybe you might manage to clear the backlog of postal items which some people are still trusting you to deliver.

No - it may have been delivered without a scan, or it may still be delayed in customs.

There is an outside chance that tracking number is a cloned one. If you are the receiver then chase the sender. If you are the sender then I'd wait to see if the receiver contacts you.

Just checked various sites;

The UK Royal Mail doesn't recognize the number http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A 3rd party site shows it leaving malaysia but not getting to the UK http://trackitonline.ru/?tn=RR158661124MY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

as does the official Malaysia Post site: http://www.pos.com.my/pos/homepage/homepg_track.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
08 Oct 2014, 10:48AM Item sent to LONDON MPC PMIH (KLIA)
08 Oct 2014, 10:31AM Item arrived MPC PMIH (KLIA) MPC PMIH (KLIA)
I would suggest contacting the post office in Malaysia and see if they can help.

If its passed through Langley it may be caught up in the Christmas traffic. I would give it another week or so before contacting customer services. This time of year because the volumes are 4 - 5 times normal there are always some delays.

I bought an item on ebay from a Portuguese seller on 7 November. It shows on the online CTT tracking screen as arriving at Langley on 14 November. No-one can tell me where it is now or whether I am likely to get it. Very frustrating. I am concerned at the number of posts on this board regarding parcels from Portugal which appear to have disappeared. Does anyone have any experience of items turning up after this time? I feel sorry for the seller as it looks like they have posted it to me but I am now at the stage of requesting a refund. My item was a £four figure purchase - hence my concern. Thanks in advance for any advice.
