Is part of the agenda to get those most affected by the strikes to help fight the posties corner?

That's pretty clever.
Listen mate, if it's sympathy you're after, there's this webshite called POSTMANSHAT, you can whinge to your heart's content on there, and
receive a plethora of sympathetic claptrap from a multitude of morons who'll pretend to give a shite.
When googling, remove the "S" from SHAT, and replace with a "C", still amounts to the same thing.
You'll find nobody on here who will surrender to Leighton & Crozier, and in the process of doing so, become instruments of their own demise, and just
so your insignificant little enterprise can flounder at a later date.
My enterprise is maybe as insignificant as one postman.

When we (all small businesses, and large for that matter, Amazon?) are all pissed off with being held as pawns by disgruntled post workers we will make a difference.

It's a two way street, if you show a little sympathy I may take the time to research and possibly back your cause. If (as is happening) I am being told to feck off and go bust etc then feet are being shot at.

Most postmen would have some sympathy for your plight.

We understand that some people will be adversely affected. None more so than us. This week we will receive 1 days pay and we accept that. The fight is not about pay, if it was we would all be working.

Royal Mail Management are squarely to blame for the situation you find yourself in. Please write to them and explain your situation. I am sure they will turn as deaf an ear to you as they have to us. Our fight is for principle, theirs is simply intransigence. They believe in business, we believe in service, a service that has been provided for almost 400 years.

If we win your service will be sustained for the immediate future but if we lose you will find that what was once a proud history is consigned to the bookkeepers.

OPTI A QUESTION

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

OK you say we are holding customers to Ransom and dont care about them:

If that was true we would be on an all out and no mail would move at all. Instead we are using tactics that disrupt Royal Mail but in the end mail is delivered.

Also if you had a grievance and were offered a £30 pay cut (over 10% of take home pay) and told you had to do more work to get that, but the CEO received over £1,000,000 in bonuses and wages last year (we got 92p). You then said sorry not willing to accept that as its unfair. The boss then said tough we are not moving go on strike if you want. What would be your next step, bearing in mind you like the job and you accept change is coming but you want a fair deal for the company and the workforce.

After all why should a workforce suffer to make profits for a few. I agree if the business was in danger of going under because of "market forces" I might be more flexible, but the situation Royal Mail is in is caused by Senior Management undercharging DSA operators by as much as 15 - 19p per item.

Seriously mate, I wish you would just all go out, and not go back until there was a resolution. And I don't think you don't care (despite some on this board) but I do feel like a pawn.

It is the long term disruption that I fear most, hence comment above.
Also if you had a grievance and were offered a £30 pay cut (over 10% of take home pay) and told you had to do more work to get that,
It's bang out of order.
but the CEO received over £1,000,000 in bonuses and wages last year (we got 92p).
It's always the same, greedy management take the piss, I think that's the biggest issue here, get rid of the millionare ****'s at the top and replace them with real people who give a **** for the man on the ground and maybe able to command a little respect.
You then said sorry not willing to accept that as its unfair. The boss then said tough we are not moving go on strike if you want. What would be your next step, bearing in mind you like the job and you accept change is coming but you want a fair deal for the company and the workforce.
I would have to **** it off to be honest. Management will always be ****'s and you will always get selfish? ****'s like me moaning when you do what you are doing. I don't see how you can win. The way the world is these days I don't see how anyone can be happy working for a company that size, flogging yourself while some **** sits at a desk on more wad than he knows what to do with.
After all why should a workforce suffer to make profits for a few.
You shouldn't, really.

OPTI - Wake up and smell the coffee

When are you going to realise that RM cares even less about you than they do about us and they don't give a feck for us.

You and you business doesn't register on their radar - they simply ain't interested in small mailers but only in the big guys.

Sorry to be blunt but I'm stating fact. So its up to you what you do about it - if I was a small businessman I would be kicking up hell with my MP, my Chamber of Commerce, the PM, my trade Association and most of all with Royal Mail - but I'm not you.

I'm a member of CWU and my first duty is to protect my living standards and working conditions and I do this by standing with my brothers and sisters and supporting my union.

I agree: at least your customers would know where they stand then. The worst bit is the uncertainty of whether/when our dispatched orders will get to the destination.

Is there any reason why you won't go out completely, surely it would hurry up a resoloution as opposed to dragging it out?

I suggest that the management change the pay system - pay the post staff weekly by cheque in the mail.

That will quickly end the dispute and speed up the catch up on the backlog!!

Do any of our understandably irate customers realise that they are already subsidising the profits of the major banks utility companies. These 'real customers' pay a fraction of the price for postage compared to the little man, carry on in blissful ignorance if you will but part of this dispute is about trying to reverse this or at least prevent it's increase,

I suggest you take your blinker off and read the facts posted throughout the forum.

Also, the machines can only process so much mail. There isn't a dial on it that reads 'Slow, medium, fast, super fast'

Just like the rest of us, yes that includes us postmen too, you'll just have to wait for your stuff to arrive.
