I frequently purchase items from the UK and on average they take about 6-7 days to arrive in New Zealand.
However, they usually aren't sent with a tracking number or for signed delivery, but my latest purchase from ebay was. When I look up the tracking number RN026485575GB it says:
23/06/14 20:59 DESPATCHABLE TOHWDC SIGNED FOR ROAD 3 LONDON CENTRAL MAIL CENTR
23/06/14 19:59 COLLECTED LONDON CENTRAL MAIL CENTR
23/06/14 14:42 ACCEPTED AT POL 41 Queenstown Ro SW8 3RE
I'm wondering why it is just sitting at the London Central Mail centre and hasn't even been sent to Heathrow yet. How long will it be held there? I'm just surprised as parcels usually seem to arrive from the UK so quickly and the seller told me that the International Signed for option should be even faster than usual.
NZ Post haven't registered the tracking number yet.

Should I be concerned yet that it still hasn't been updated? It seems like a ridiculously long time to be held there.

I wouldn't be that concerned but you can chase Royal Mail officially by using twitter @royalmail, you'll need to follow and DM them.
