Growth in parcels/Sunday delivery next?

Parcelforce will be delivering to 97% of uk on Sundays from June 29. How busy it'll be or how they will get any staff is yet to be seen though my manager seems to know nowt

That's a really interesting site newtimes and well worth everyone having a view, especially with the statistics thrown at us on an almost daily basis - the particular one being, mail is falling so you are obviously not working as hard, summer brings a fall in letters so you need to lapse - all actually subscribed to by the union - I presume you refer to union bods career prospects when they support the managerial stance instead of those who actually pay to support their ambitions.

To be honest RM haven't got a Scooby doo re sunday deliveries ie what the Posties are actually going to do. At the mo it will resourced by overtime as the duty structures are not there at mo. It'll be a case of wait and see what happens when it happens

I think your find they have been talking to the Union at national and divisional level on this for sometime.

It is a loss leader and initially will be run from the mail centre but as it grows it will be run from the base of where the enquiry office is open sundays.

It will not be compulsory and will never be as we are talking about just parcels , there will not be a requirement for letters to be delivered and of course most of the suppliers are reluctant to put too much cost on Sunday delivery and the same will go with Royal Mail as we know Amazon are doing some of their own sunday deliveries , as will DPD and Yodel.

You're probably right, I've experienced that very thing over the years. I think it's the lack of support from the CWU and the membership that wears them down and no wonder.
