I can't work Sundays coz I have to go to church to repent all my sins from the night before. Jesus knows I like my Saturdays on the razzle and chasing muff. Our Maude would have a fit if she knew what I get up to but Father Andrews has promised that what I tell him will go no further. God I love church.

A person can’t be made to work on Sundays unless they and their employer agree and put it in writing (eg change the contract).

Moya Greene is all for a Sunday delivery with rivals like Amazon offering the service now. Is this our 'Agenda for Growth' that our union have signed up for? Would they have even told u in the ballot(bit like the no strike deal) mmmmm NO. Same-old/Same-old union. Might not happen just yet but it's coming it's the only way Royal Mail will b able 2 compete and stay near the top of an increasing 24/7 'I WANT IT NOW' market. Sunday delivery anyone!

Well Sunday delivery is here, w'ont get full rollout until September but after losing Amazon, and TNT expanding nationally through to 2017 including our manor in Southend it was inevitable. CWU are in negotiations now over Sunday pay rate and terms and conditions- still, would have been nice of them to consult us first before agreeing it!. We'll done Wardy . Will be voluntary for now, callers open for public to pick up, and delivery of packets, parcels, tracked,recorded, and specials, oh and any redeliveries. Chuck in a few letters and hey it's just a normal delivery day?. Trouble is with further declining mail volumes and Royal Mail having to justify the expense of Sunday they may cease delivery on the Monday or Tuesday. To comply with the USO and save shedloads of money Sunday will then be made a normal day...... Sunday delivery AS DUTY anyone?

Again the growth in parcels within the M25 is massive it now accounts to 15% of all Royal Mail parcels traffic. Will it be rolled out to other places , yes but only where it is financially viable.

If this information is being passed to the CWU then why is it not being passed to the members in an official capacity. It's OK passing nuggets of information but I'd like to see the corroborative evidence together with all the relative information that impacts on our working life - such as the timescale for a full roll out, how it's to be financed, when the new PDAs are to be issued and the area by area roll out of those. We must be in the age of communication with CWUTV, RMTV, emails, monthly publications from RM and the CWU - though why they haven't been amalgamated to save cash god only knows. Yet here we are in a private forum picking up information on an as and when basis.

I enjoy your input dingo but you made a statement about manning the barricades over bullying and harassment BUT failed to respond to the questions I asked about non union members being bullied and trying to galvanise a workforce into action with only a 55% union membership, like a good politician you answer questions with what you want heard not solutions to the problem. How do you make people adhere to the use of equipment and moreover make RM ensure that it is used - those questions remain unanswered together with the use of new PDAs which in no measure will answer those questions of no meal relief, early starting and non use of equipment.

Why a falsehood? Where is your evidence for this?
There is nothing particularly remarkable about a figure of 15%. It merely reflects the concentration of the total UK population within this comparatively small area. It doesn’t mean that Londoners have embraced online shopping any more enthusiastically than the rest of the country.

London accounts for around 12.5% of the population and the Greater London Urban Area (which is a closer fit to the confines of the M25) to around 15% of the population.

It makes sense for RM to trial Sunday deliveries where the population is most tightly concentrated and therefore demand is greatest.
Perhaps we are doing our own bit of cherry picking, for a change?
