First class standard mail not arrived

Post by Jamesdunstable »

Hi
A DBS certificate was sent to me on the 20th May by first class standard mail I've been told but it has not arrived. I'm concerned as this is an important document. With my personal details on. It may have even sent in a prepaid envelope by the company that sends them out. Does this make a difference to the time of arrival and if not why is it taking so long if sent first class?
Many thanks

If its pre-paid then it might not be a Royal Mail letter, we may end up delivering it, but there are competitors out there such as TNT(UK), Northern Post, UK Mail, Secured Post and DHL Global to name but a few. A lot of non postal firms now have a contract with those firms to sort mail ready for Royal Mail to deliver it, as most of them work on the basis of the high volume they send the cheaper it is, sometimes they hold on to mail until they have enough to send. Also TNT are doing their own deliveries in some areas so that may also delay it as they only deliver every 2- 3 days as opposed to every day for us.
