Who SAYS they have legal status ,these changes appear to contravene employment law which states they can only be introduced with agreement.Until these changes are contested in law and a legal ruling is made they have no such status.
Perhaps I failed to notice the court case and it's judgement ,if so sincere apologies, if not lets stop giving RM crap extra importance and force by falsely endowing it with legal status

[/quote This suits RM just fine.Perfect excuse for them to slag us off on TV, radio and press,and ship in the casuals.From what I saw last night the last strikes have caused chaos.You can fight them much better hand to hand inside than stood around outside the castle wall.

while i admire the lads and lasses in liverpool and london etc, about 6 months ago in devon we had an unofficial strike that lasted a week. one of our reps had his pay docked so distribution and the mail centre walked. we tryed to get support from other areas but no-one wanted to know and we became isolated. we eventually got a back to work agreement that said there would be no discrimination against any striker but it was not worth the paper it was written on. management took 25 people down the conduct code resulting in much stress for them all and 3 people were moved to other areas and one person lost his job. allegedly the charges were spurious to say the least and management have used the fear of this, to attack us even more ever since. in our experience unofficial action is very precarious.

came out gain this morning the puppets hot on the phone to liverpool to try and reach an agreement.gobshite darren redgrift refused a deal.so the walk out continues as all those slagging us off where has the official strike got us.

The fact is the Union is not supporting the unofficial action. The official action has done quite a lot. Royal Mail is negotiating with the union, and that is progress.
Sure enuff, there is no agreement for what RM seems to be doing, but every time we walk unofficially we hand over the high ground to Royal Mail. If you do not want to do as the union says and return to work, then cancel your membership. Trust in the union to get us a proper deal and to get this sorted. Unofficial achieves a lot less than official action. All the best to you guys in Liverpool, but I fear this will do more damage than good.
