IIRC WPCs did not exist at the time of the Way Forward Agreement. "Non-school training" is not the same as being a WPCcoxie wrote:Show me te part of the way forward agreement where it says WPC will be decided on seniority.

Re: work place coach ?
I said it's not legally recognised I didn't say it was illegal. The government never even approved of us using seniority to pick duties they wanted us to get rid of it but when there was no fairer way to pick dutys so it was left be but seniority is only used on one or two things such as picking duties and not for everything that is Royal Mail.zx135 wrote:you were the one who said it was illegal not me, whether its supported or not matters nothing, its perfectly legal to use seniority and it addmitably may not be the fairest but at least it is very very transparentcoxie wrote:It's not illegal but it's not approved by any legal systems, they don't support it but it is allowed. actually you did say it was illegal
Also the fact offices use seniority for repicks etc has nothing to do with the govermentcoxie wrote:In our office we were told that there has to be an interview process and as it's sort of a promotion in the sense it involves extra wages that it has to be done like any job vacancy and doing so without an interview and giving to favourites or on seniority would be illegal.

No, only the fact that up until recently we were government owned. And I didn't say seniority was illegal but there are some things that it can't be used for or you would have a case to take any company to court for discrimination.zx135 wrote:coxie wrote: I said it's not legally recognised I didn't say it was illegal. Re: work place coach ?
you clearly did say it would be illegal to give someone a job based on seniority, which is not illegal to do, what things then do you believe cannot be decided on by seniority?coxie wrote:No, only the fact that up until recently we were government owned.
