Inappropriate Behaviour?

Post by toobluetrue »

Hi

I am here to ask for a little advice and opinions.

I would like to know whether the Royal Mail issues guidelines to it's postal staff regarding appropriate and inappropriate behaviour etc. whilst making deliveries?

The reason I ask is I know of a particular postman who over the years has formed relationships with women whilst delivering the mail. We live in a fairly small town and I know for sure that he is married and that his wife is unaware. I also know from two women who have been in these 'relationships' with him, that he pretends either to be single or hen-pecked and the end result of these relationships is that he benefits financially.

Anyway, back to my question. Are there grounds here for him to be reported?

Thanks for any help and advice

What he is doing may be morally questionable, however, there is nothing he is doing that is against any specific rules within Royal Mail.

My own personal opinion is unless you are a friend or relative of the one of the affected would be to steer well clear of it.

Thank you for your replies.

I am a friend of someone who fell for the charm, she lost a lot of money and we have now found out that the new lady is fairly vulnerable. My friend views it that she got off lightly compared to some of the others, so not looking for revenge.

I am surprised that the Royal Mail doesn't view forming these relationships during working hours as 'wrong'. But I appreciate being a lone working job a lot of the time it's harder to 'police' as it were.

Even amongst some staff at the sorting office and the staff in a couple of the offices he delivers too, he is known as the Pervy Postman. It just doesn't seem right.

Thank again.

Don't forget that postmen are 'the new window cleaners' so this sort of carrying on happens a lot :nana or so I'm told  .

I can imagine the Royal Mail would only step in if he didn't complete his delivery and took mail back but was found out to be doing other things which waste time. People tell lies to the opposite sex all the time to get what they want, tell his wife if you think he deserves to get just deserts but I wouldn't mess with his job. We have a few charmer postmen at our office, is the fact that he's a postman the reason he does it? I suspect he would be the same whatver his profession but it's more of a domestic issue rather than work related, unless his work and service suffers the Royal Mail won't do jack, you might have to find another way to get even.

So it's not against any rule or regulation for him to spend his 40 minute daily breaks in "relationships with women whilst delivering the mail" ? :nana
