Are you having a laugh at your customers?

Post by metalrat007 »

As the title states "Are you having a laugh"
I work for an overprinting company and many millions of printed envelopes leave our company annually

I have been using the new artwork generator for response items only to find that Royal Mail rejected it on every single item the generator created (my own speed indicator was ok)
What is the point of offering this service when it does not function?
It warns that incorrectly set items are liable to a surcharge !!! WTF?
Is this the way RM proposes to raise extra funds
I have spoken to the people at response items and they can't agree either it seems one day it passes and the next it doesn't
Sort it out RM or you will lose credibility and business

Unfortunately the people who would be able to offer any meaningful advice are probably warned to stay away from RoyalMailChat on pain of a papercut.

However, us workers at the coal face will certainly recognise the feeling behind the threads title.

I hope they sort it out soon though as this is the sort of thing that drives businesses into the arms of our competitors.

"this is the sort of thing that drives businesses into the arms of our competitors" except that the competitors don't do 'Response' ( previously 'Business Reply' ) do they ?

They do, but I better not post links - although a google search and a little digging and you can find at least one non royal mail business reply service.

Recent response from response services, spot the difference between the replies for the same item:

Thank you for sending your Response Service proof item.

I am pleased to confirm your item has been approved subject to the below conditions.

The first line of the address should read:

Employment and Support Allowance and not Employment & Support Allowance

Thank you for sending your Response Service proof item.

I am pleased to confirm your item has been approved subject to the below conditions:

The address title to be shown as Employment & Support Allowance and not Employment and Support Allowance.

If you will be printing your item in colour and not black please see below

This is part of the frustration,
Is it too much to expect consistency with your own rules and regs?
BTW which one is correct
Ampersand or not? advised never to use "and" always use ampersand and then......... (reaches for the Valium)

Does Kafka work for RM?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Spoke to Response again and have been informed that the artwork generator is to be used only as a guide!
If this is the case I don't understand the purpose of creating artwork that is unacceptable to use, anyone know why RM would do this apart from the potential cash cow it could create?
Alan Partridge if he was on the board would probably answer MOOOO!!!
