Royal Mail Number

I've ordered an item on Amazon and is sent via Standard but was giving a 20 characters digit which starts with SM and ends with F, what does the number mean or do?

Its not a Royal Mail Number as they are all 13 digits and end in GB.

Its being sent by another carrier would be my guess.

It's sent via Royal Mail and I've been on Live Chat to Amazon and they said it's a external number but not quite sure the use of it

There's no use of that number by royal mail, its not one we would put on a parcel or use in anway
