Help!

Post by ald26 »

I ordered an item online, which was being shipped with tracking, from America. I've had it delivered to where I work, as I'm never home and hate going to the delivery office. I checked the tracking info today, and it was last updated yesterday with the following: "Your item, posted on 25/03/14 was delivered in EASTERN CENTRAL 1 PDO on 26/03/14. Thank you for using our Airsure® service." What does this mean? I've not received my item.

type your details into this site http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it usually has more information and a different status. If you want copy and paste the output here and IF we can decipher it we will try to help.

Thanks so much :) That was a little more helpful. This is what it produced:
Date Time Status Track point
26/03/14 08:36 DELIVERED26/03/14 EASTERN CENTRAL 1 PDO
26/03/14 00:31 ON DELIVERY EASTERN CENTRAL 4 PDO
25/03/14 23:52 RECEIVED AT PDOEASTERN CENTRAL CITY EASTERN CENTRAL CITY
25/03/14 04:07 DESPATCHABLE TOEASTERN CENTRAL CITY HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC

I don't really understand though, because if it had been delivered then surely it would be showing the address that I had the item posted to? I have no idea what "Eastern Central 1 PDO" is. Do you think I should call Royal Mail and ask?

Yes probably best, although it might be worth checking with whoever accepts your post where you work.

As to final address for delivery - they can't display that because of legal considerations such as the Data Protection Act etc.

Other considerations are did the sender put the correct and full address on the item, could someone else have accepted the item on your behalf.

The status 26/03/14 08:36 DELIVERED26/03/14 EASTERN CENTRAL 1 PDO - means that a Delivery Office called Eastern Central (probably post code EC1) scanned it as they delivered it - but not where they delivered it.

Good luck.

Thanks! The lady I spoke to on the phone just now was very helpful, she said she'd look into it and get back to me, so hopefully some more light will be shed on this for me. Hopefully, the office assistant is just being a wee bit tardy with the post and I'll get it today! Wouldn't normally be so antsy, but I've recently had a lot of bad luck with sending and receiving things via Air Mail :d'oh!
