UK to Japan parcel delivery was attempted

On the 24/02/2014 I've sent a parcel from UK to Japan and at the post office I was told that delivery is going to take approximately 7 days. The delivery price was £17.90 which, I think, is quiet high for a parcel less then 1kg weight.
So, now is already the 13th of March (17 days since the parcel was sent) and I start to be seriously concerned about my parcel (timing is critical in this case).
I'm not sure how I should understand the delivery status ("delivery was attempted"). I checked the delivery two times just recently and I got two different results.

If the addressee does not collect it or make an arrangement to have it redelivered, it will be returned to the sender in the UK.

However, the receiver didn't receive anything. What does it suppose to mean?

Looks like from the tracking that the address might be wrong. Double-check the address that you sent it to with whoever the item is being sent to:

So, what can I do about it? If the address appears incorrect (though I think it should be correct), how can I tell them where to deliver?

You personally nothing - but the receiver may be able to do something by contacting JP Post
