It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Competition is not the way to describe the situation.jockthearab wrote:give me a loan of yer white van thenwhite van man wrote:None of this anger should be directed at the people on the street, ie delivery drivers, we are only doing a job, and for a postie to say to another companies driver f**k off your the competition is nothing more than an act of frustration directed at the wrong person. It's a cut throat industry but we are nothing more than minions, i happily help a postie when they ask.
You don't want the work=You don't take the work
We don't want the work+We must take the work
You don't make a loss
We make a loss
Next time I see a courier I will ask him to deliver a loss making bag of mail for me and see if he doesn't greet me with a four letter word.

Re: HDNL and the competition.
Yeah! Thats a really good reason to hate all Postal workers. As for your analogy it is would make more sense if the Dorothy Perkins employee asked if she could put some of her stock for sale in a Marks & Sparks store! The retail industry has no interest in public addresses!white van man wrote:I work for Home delivery network as a delivery driver/ I earn around 32k per year and until now had the upmost respect for royal mail. Until last week when i approached a postie near bury st edmunds and asked him if he knew where a particular house was, his reply was i aint fuc**ng tellin you ur the competition, sorry i am just another person working to feed my family, arrogant twats like him destroy all you stand for. It is not me who is trying to steal the business. If a women works in dorothy perkins clothes shop and asks a lady in another car who works for marks & spencer where a street is, does she say f""k you i aint telling u your a competitor in the retail business, the answer is of course not. You should all grow up and come and work for hdnl the moneys better and its job and finish.
P.s. 32K... is that Krona... I never realised delivering for cleaneeze was so lucrative!
Remember, the way you do you job will affect colleagues for years to come - if you cut corners to do it quick, they will be expected to as well....and then RM will add extra work to fill the gaps.
