NVI (value not shown) 1st/2nd class stamps OK for abroad?

Post by doca »

Impossible to find an answer to this on the RM website, but I'm assuming it's OK to use NVI stamps (the ones that don't have an actual value on them but just show 1st or 2nd class) on letters going overseas?

So presumably they'd count as 50p (second class) 60p (first) and 90p (first large) - and a 90p one would cover the 88p charge for 20g within Europe (most Christmas cards)?

1st class stamp is 60p - just make sure that you use enough stamps to cover the postage cost.
Better to overpay rather than underpay for international items.

Done this before umpteen times without issue. Just make sure you have put enough value on to cover the cost of postage to destination.

I also handwrite the value of the postage I have applied underneath the stamps, though this may be overkill.
