hi all
a friend moved and set up a redirection. however, in about 3 months he's only received a handful of redirected letters.
he has been on the phone to complain several times now, but the problem is still not sorted.
i did some inquiring for him, i went to the delivery office of his old address and spoke to the manager.
i found out that the delivery where he used to live is now a permanent absorption job, and the redirections are failing regularly.
even though i made the manager there aware of this and he said he'd make sure they get done, it is still failing 95% of the time.
after complaining again, my friend has been offered a free extension, however he says whats the point as it's not even working.
my question is, can he claim any kind of compensation?
mail is still going through the old house door as he has visited a couple of times to collect it, something he shouldn't have to do, and would not be possible if the new owner wasn't co-operative.
thanks for any help

Re: redirection failure for several months
The only way the manager will do anything serious about it is if he gets some heat from above so I would advise your friend to start complaining officially, often and to as high an authority as possible.
Daily if necessary.

good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: redirection failure for several months
Get both your friend and the people at his old address to complain officially every time the redirection fails. Managers really hate complaints through customer services.

Unlikely, if anything, they will just deeply apologize.silver_fox wrote:just wondering if compensation is available? you know like when you send something and it gets lost?
