Not in this case as it specifically states in the terms and conditions that dangerous goods may be delayed for inspection

I have had 2 items destroyed this week and I'm disputing them both but the whole thing is like pulling teeth.
If you keep checking the track and trace it will prob change to a message about being inspected.
Not filling me with confidence that is.Funny enough the tracking sight has just got a message up telling me
what the other member told me.

cheers
Brian
You might get a message saying it is being returned to sender but it is not the package. What they do is send you a letter with the same 13 digit code as the packet you sent. The letter is a standard one saying your item has been disposed of and that they will not prosecute this time and that the matter is now closed.
Good luck
If they do that mate,i will chase them till i get my money,as it was posted using Royal Mails own guide lines.Once its gone
its gone ...then the real fight will begin

cheers
Brian
That's the problem I'm having at the moment and I work for them! It's like banging your head against a brick wall. I hope they inspect yours and see that it's all ok.
So do i mate.If common sense is used, they will see the tuning company buiness card, realise its an air rife, and reship it.Incidently, its not a full air rifle, its just the action, and buddy bottle. The thing that worries me,i have just remembered,i sent them my sound moderater to modify, that will be in the box....not ilegal in the Uk,so should not be a problem realy.

cheers

The whole process surrounding Dangerous Goods seems very murky and not transparent.

I was tasked at my old company to ensure compliance in our mail order dispatch with Dangerous Goods. We got a package sent back once with the item destroyed. I was confident that nothing in the product broke the regs.

In short, I called and was told that I would have to submit a P58 with Material Data Safety Sheet for product. This was a huge mither, and arguably the value of the product did not merit spending so much time. However, continued out of principle and got the item - which RM admitted was OK to fly - refunded in full.

I understand that RM have to work to the regs but it seems that at present anything can be destroyed at will, with little or no accountability and nothing to prove. Whereas the customer has to prove everything...

Thankyou for the comforting news...even though i have been hearing the same

The sender contacted customer services today, and complained and asked for a complaints refrence number.
They said its not been booked in at Belfast,so they cant raise a refrence number,to call back in a couple of days,to give it time
to be booked in.Posted a letter of complaint away today myself....but as you say, things are destroyed at will.If it is destroyed,i will not rest till i get every penny back, dont care if it takes years.

Your complaint won't process any further, and that's a fact. It was a restricted item, so the whole package gets destroyed.

it should get processed further, if you read the original posts about it, the item is not a banned item

Update

Got on the phone this morning, since i had not yet got a relpy to my email.
Went through it all again, and was told by the girl,to get the sender to fill in a p58 claim form
as,it has not been scanned for more than 10 days,it is connsidered lost
Sender has filled in p58 form, have supplied him with some more valuation quotes from the company who specalise in this type of sporting rifle action, and the chap who sold me the air rifle is getting me a copy of the receipt.I had no sooner done that, when i got a reply to my email. They say they are now waiting on the relevent expert to look at and test the rifle, and he wont manage that till early next week.Have informed them....he may have a problem or two.
1 the buddybottle is empty.
2 thair is no trigger on the rifle.
3 thair is no pellet loader or magazine in the box.

So the fiasco continues. All this and the parcel was sitting a mile in a half from my front door :arrrghhh
Will update when i learn anything.

cheers
Brian
